During an interview with PCGamer, Principal Designer and Housing Lead Jesse Kurlancheek revealed that a Guild Halls feature will come soon after the World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion launch.
Executive Producer Holly Longdale says a 2026 Housing Roadmap will be released close to launch.
Ion Hazzikostas says co-decorating of houses is on the roadmap. Co-ownership is being discussed at the moment.
Highlight of things coming post-launch:
- Decor drops from Midnight’s raids with a guaranteed number of items per boss that has decor. This decor will be a personal loot and includes bad luck protection.
- New Housing Renown levels. Extra housing XP.
- 5-10 Housing Levels will be added with each major content patch.
- Exterior rooms with daylight and exterior scenes indoors.
- Night Elf and Blood Elf exteriors.
- Generously-sized “medium” home exteriors.
- More-visible plot boundaries.
- Interactive objects allow players to hold a glass, a book, or play a game with Diablo IV expansion pre-order bonus chess set.
- You will be able to import and export rooms, collections of objects, and (in discussion) entire houses.
- Increased number of Exterior Decor Limit.
- Prohibition of Exterior Lighting to be lifted.
- Mounts and Pets in your collection will be allowed to wander your home.
- New Interior and Exterior Decor to mimic other cultures (non-playable races) and biomes: i.e. snow.
- Some Decor will have flavor animations when you click them. i.e click a cauldron and it bubbles in response.
Things under discussion that aren’t coming any time soon.
- More nuanced neighborhood controls for leaders.
- Permission for Guild Ranks that allow guild leaders to determine whether characters can build a house in the guild neighborhood.
- Basement levels.
- More communal spaces and event support: i.e. lap track, player-controlled ticketed play on a communal stage, large-scale roleplaying events, or interactive Sleep No More-style interactive narrative houses using interactive objects.
- Future neighborhood areas (expanding existing neighborhoods or creating new neighborhoods)
