World of Warcraft: Forever (Classic+)
Holly Longdale: So let’s shift gears a little bit here. It’s time to talk about something new. Maybe address some of the rumors out there, because we know a lot of you love that nostalgic flavor of vanilla. So what if we take vanilla and really plus it up?
(World of Warcraft: Forever | New Horizons | Cinematic Trailer is played)
Yes. Yes, yes, yes. This is Classic Plus. I have to tell you, though, you only have a little bit of time to rally your friends, your newbies, your former crew, anyone you want to live in Azeroth with. Get ready because World of Warcraft: Forever launches in seven weeks, on November 4.

I’ll say that again, November 4th, everybody. So Beta starts this Thursday (Sept 17). And if you’re here, you could play Forever on the show floor. World of Warcraft: Forever is your new permanent home. It’s a new beginning that never ends. And I promise you, if you’re a past, current, or a new player, now’s the time to get into the game that changed everything. Let me tell you why. We’re giving you another way to play WoW, that’s friendly, familiar, and new.
It’s going to live right alongside our modern and classic games. Forever is focused on what made Vanilla so memorable in the first place, the world as the main character. Instead of one big heroic story, you will carve your own path. It’s also a place dedicated to community and making sure that it’s nurtured. And above all, there’s no rush here.
It’s the journey that counts, not the destination. There’s going to be a lot to discover too. It’s not all going to be solved or predictable. Ultimately, it’s easy to get into and play and deep enough to stay forever. Honestly, this is a new opportunity to get back to what the heart is of MMOs and what makes them so damn special.
It’s like that absolute freaking magic of adventuring and running into battle or the thrill of a new encounter with your crew, when you’re trying to click your way out of a certain peril. The adrenaline of it all, for faction, for friends, for loot. We love our loot. Even the chill moments are gonna bring us home. Like meeting a new friend on a run like I did when I was making the trek from Teldrassil to Ironforge with the music, giving the vibes the whole way.
It’s about all of us, and it’s about feeling at home with your people. There are so many great moments like this to come and a lot more.
(World of Warcraft: Forever | Gameplay Trailer is played)
I cannot wait for you to join us in forever. It all starts up after the events of Warcraft III: Forsaken Kingdom, when Lordaeron falls, but before Molten Core. So essentially, year one of Vanilla WoW. But the future is untold. We may see stories that could have happened and some that didn’t happen at all. We are all going to meet up on our original continents, embark on the journey to 60, and stay at 60 indefinitely.
The simple explanation for that is we don’t want to race ahead and leave our accomplishments, our gear, and our friends behind. That said, we will progress in new ways and get updates as we go, new stories, new experiences, and more.
And it’s all based on what we’ve been hearing from you. And for that inspiration, we want to thank you. We are nothing without our community. Forever exists because the team soaked up many, many years of ideas and passion for Classic+. They brought their own magic to it and created this adventure for all of us. We’ve got a lot more to tell you, so stick around for our What’s Next panel, which will be right here immediately after this.
And tomorrow morning, we’ll get into the details in our Deep Dive panel. I love you. Quite a start to this BlizzCon party, right? Not that? StarCraft is back. Yes! Diablo 5 is on the go. We’ve got a new hero in Overwatch. Xal’atath is floating around the Nexus, and she’s trying to steal our world, so rude.
And we all get to play in Azeroth forever. Johanna described this time together as an oasis, and that’s what our worlds have always been. The time we get to spend here is truly precious. I think I’ll say it again. I love you all. And this is where opening ceremony begins — ends. It ends right now, but our adventures are going to begin. I do want to say from our hearts to yours, thank you. Truly, thank you. And now, it’s time to play. Have an absolutely epic badass BlizzCon. BLIZZCON !!!!!
[Editor]: Thanks for reading this transcript. I have posted panel transcripts of 8 BlizzCon events since 2013 for free. Transcripts are useful to fans. Especially for fans who don’t understand English and can use tools to translate the panels (I understand your need. I’m latino), or for people with disabilities (I have a few disabilities myself). If you are appreciative of my work and time investment and wish to support me: whether for a donut, a meal, or to help with the monthly hosting costs to keep this space online as a resource for the community, you can do so via PayPal here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
