Orik Trueheart: We’ll be flying directly to the island. My friend said that the warrior never entered the shrine itself, they were after one of the tombs. I’m guessing that since that vrykul hero couldn’t enter that it’s still protected by power unique to Tyr. I’m thinking that we may have a better shot than most other people at this. Let’s get into the shrine and see if that shield is still there.
Go to Shield’s Rest in Stormheim and claim the Truthguard.
Orik Trueheart: Ye should read the saga yerself, it’s right here. So, we’re here to speak to the spirit of that vrykul I was talking about before. Tahu Sagewind is a powerful Seer and has said he should be able to bring this spirit back. It will be up to us to convince him to speak. You should speak with Tahu so we can get started.
Get the end of the story from the spirit of the saga writer.
Orik Trueheart: Since the defeat of the Lich King I’ve been spending my time around Ulduar learning about the titan keeper Tyr. He was the only keeper that actively fought Loken during his betrayal. I found a vrykul saga describing a powerful shield Tyr crafted for his ally vrykul to carry into battle. With Tahu’s help, I’d like to speak with this vrykul and learn what happened to this shield. Meet us at Shield Hill in the Howling Fjord and I’ll fill you in.
Meet Orik Trueheart on Shield Hill in Howling Fjord.
Lord Maxwell Tyrosus: You may be familiar with Orik Trueheart here. He has devoted his time after the Northrend campaign to learning more about Tyr. He has uncovered evidence of a powerful shield crafted by Tyr long ago. With the help of the Sunwalkers, we are finally able to act on this. Please speak to him immediately.
Speak with Orik Trueheart.
Travard: We can no longer keep Tyr’s resting place safe, but we must recover the Silver Hand. Tyrosus has lent us a small force to aid in the recovery of the hammer, and some of my order will meet us there as well, but I fear even that may not be enough. I’m glad we’ll have you with us. I will rally these men and women. You should take the portal to Dalaran Crater, then fly to Tirisfal Glades and meet us. I’ve marked the location on your map.
Go to Tyr’s Fall in Tirisfal Glades and recover the Silver Hand.
Lord Maxwell Tyrosus: It appears that current events have given us a unique opportunity. A small group of paladins has surfaced and claim to know the location of Tyr’s tomb itself! What’s more, they’ve been protecting his warhammer for a very long time. I’d like you to speak with their leader, Travard. He is organizing a small group of volunteers to reclaim the artifact.
Speak with Travard.
NOTE: This quest makes a reference to World of Warcraft: Dawn of the Aspects (by Richard A. Knaak). This questline also reveals a secret paladin order that no one has heard of before. The text revealing more about the “Tyr’s Guard” order is not implemented yet in Legion alpha, but I’ll make sure to share with you when it is added. In short, this order has been guardian Tyr’s Tomb and tracking artifacts about him throughout Azeroth.
The Brother’s Trail
Travard: I have decided it is time to reclaim the Silver Hand before those with evil intent can unlock it. In order to free it from the wards we will need these relics: Sparks of Tyr. I have one, but my brother, galford, had the other. He went on a pilgrimage to Northrend to discover more secrets of Tyr, but never returned. I would like you to retrace his footsteps from Wyrmrest Temple and find his Spark.
Go to Dragonblight in Northrend and find galford and his Spark of Tyr.
Odyn: The greatest warrior should wield the greatest weapons. Long ago a great king, Magnar Icebreaker, wielded weapons crafted from a scale of the mightiest dragon in the land. He should be here, but he is not. Instead he languishes in his tomb. His son, Hruthnir, is here. He will lead you to the tomb. If Magnar can be saved, do so. Either way, return with his weapons.
Deal with Magnar Icebreaker.
The first king of the humans, Thoradin, performed many acts of heroism and valor. While on a personal quest near the end of his reign, he stumbled upon the tomb of my brother Tyr… and the grave-prison of the monstrosity he died fighting. Thoradin unintentionally awoke the beast and gave his life to keep it from escaping. It is Thoradin’s sword, Stromkar, that has kept the monster at bay. Retrieve it and finish what Tyr and Thoradin started. Kill Zakajz the C’Thraxxi.
Find Strom’kar the Warbreaker and deal with Zakajz.
