Medievaldragon: It has come to my attention a few comments floating around quoting our Facebook entry concerning this news post. A staff member accidentally misquoted the topic of this post stating: “World of Warcraft and Overwatch announcement”. My article doesn’t state that to be a fact. My apologies on his behalf. He usually posts links to my articles in our Facebook when I forget to do it. The facebook page was corrected. We are also NOT interviewing Metzen at GamesCom. We don’t know who yet, nor what about.
Update # 2
Blizzard Entertainment provided a few glimpses into the GamesCom 2015 since May.
“Blizzard has an amazing show planned for you at gamescom 2015. With just over two months to go, we’re really looking forward to this year’s epic event, and we want to share our excitement with you.” — source: https://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/19800550/blizzgc2015-social-media-contest-win-a-trip-to-gamescom-6-9-2015
“Looking for your next shot at playing Overwatch? Make like Reinhardt and charge hammer-first into gamescom 2015, the world’s largest interactive entertainment trade fair taking place August 5–9 at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany.
This year’s gamescom marks the first time Blizzard Entertainment’s 6v6 shooter will be playable publically in Europe—so if you want to get in on the action, assemble your team in our official booth located in Hall 7.
In between battles, Hall 7 will also host a variety of activities around all of Blizzard’s games, including developer signing sessions, showmatches, quizzes, community contests, and more. On top of that, the latest versions of Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, StarCraft II, and World of Warcraft will be playable on more than 500 game stations in Blizzard’s sector of the show.”
Blizzplanet member @Handclaw is heading out to Blizzard Entertainment’s GamesCom 2015 Media Briefing on Wednesday, August 5th at 12:00pm CEST. This is a Media-only event, and not open to the public. Considering past GamesCom events, Blizzard Entertainment prepares to make massive announcements next week.
In our private staff channel, we internally have various speculations, and not concrete facts. Only one thing that we can share with you to get the hype-train going: We are interviewing a World of Warcraft developer on Friday, August 7. Draw your own conclusions, but keep in mind even your conclusions are speculative.
