Garrison Buildings Guide – Warlords of Draenor
The Garrison is a new feature introduced in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, much akin to Player Housing than one might think, yet with striking differences.
There is no capital city in this expansion such as Shattrath City (in Burning Crusade) or Dalaran City (in Wrath of the Lich King). The Garrison is your to-go place of operations. You might want to go there every 30-60 minutes.
The Garrison is your foothold on this savage-savage land, and you have few resources and few soldiers among your troops to call upon, without reinforcements coming from the Dark Portal. By the way, all NPCs including High Overlord Saurfang address you as Commander of this expedition.
It is in the Garrison where you can expand your buildings, their specialization, and even where you can hire new NPCs to fight for you or to accomplish special tasks. In this guide I’ll only cover the buildings and their upgrades.
The Barracks houses your garrison's military forces and followers. After the Garrison town hall, this is the first building you build through a quest (See the Foothold in a Savage Land questline).
After building the barracks, your character permanently earns the "Call to Arms" spell button at the top of the screen. It can be dragged into the spell bar. Call to Arms calls your troops to fight at your side. It has a 5 minutes cooldown. It's mostly used to fight rare elites, elites and when you are in trouble due to aggro.
Note: Barracks specializations are unlocked at level 3.
Grants the Call to Arms ability and unlocks high experience Patrol Missions.
Increases your follower limit by 25.
Allows you to instantly complete a mission once per day.
Greater Call to Arms
Strengthens the troops in your Call to Arms ability, generating more damage.
Summons a First Aid nurse NPC that grants healing potions and bandages each day.
Occasionally catches thieves who can pay fines or provide useful information to serve their sentence.
The Armory stores and maintains the armaments used by the Garrison's inhabitants.
Doubles your chance of BONUS UPGRADE quest rewards.
Allows the collection of armor scraps from the Orc clans of Draenor for armor transmogrification use.
Grants a free raid bonus roll once per week.
The Mage Tower's arcane researchers search across Draenor for new useful magic for the Garrison.
Unlocks a portal to Ashran.
Unlocks a portal to Talador.
Unlocks a portal to Gorgrond and Nagrand.
Allows you to abort a current mission and immediately bring followers back.
Removes travel time for the first mission every day that requires 5 followers.
Provides access to portals that grant transport to cities other than Orgrimmar and Stormwind.
The Stables provide for the care of mounts and pack animals, which are used to help travel across Draenor.
Reduces the chance of being dazed on a mount by 50%.
You may remain mounted while interacting with objects in the world.
Increases mount speed in Draenor by 20%.
Enable you to stable five more mounts at the stable for public display.
A rare mount trader has taken up shop at your garrison stables building.
Unlocks a personal engineer that attaches rockets, mines, and speed boosts to your mounts. Exceptional work!
Your engineer now grants you access to a Jet Pack.
Allows the creation of a siege vehicle once per day. Drive it to victory in Draenor!
