If your socks got blown by NVIDIA’s announcement of the next GEFORCE RTX — you better hold back your checkbook for a couple of months before making the jump.
AMD has deployed two teasers for the upcoming RADEON RX 6000 Series graphic cards featuring RDNA2. The first teaser revealed a three cooler fans design and the two 8-pin connectors mean this is among the top more expensive and powerful graphic cards.
The official announcement and hopefully all the features and specs might be revealed on October 28 during their yearly event.
The video clip in the second teaser confirms that details will be revealed on October 28: “A breakthrough gaming architecture. For PCs and Consoles. RDNA2. A new journey begins October 28.
The reason I ask you to hold back your checkbook is that while the NVIDIA RTX 3070 / 3080 / 3090 are “oh-so-tempting” — Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate cloud gaming is powered by AMD, and the PS5… is also AMD.
It’s always good to see what NVIDIA has to offer, but also what AMD has to offer in terms of graphic cards. AMD is showing their cards (pun?) on October 28.
So beyond October 28, you can safely make a wise decision how to upgrade into PCIe 4.0 motherboards.
By the way, AMD also teased recently details of the AMD Zen 3 CPUs will be revealed on October 8, 2020.
