The newest Shadowlands Alpha build 34365 added new Human customization options, and other new updates. The following video is 1:46 hours long. Not all races/genders got an update, but I recorded all of them because most of the hair styles and other options now have a name, not just a number.

TORGHAST

This new build added the Hunter and Monk for testing Torghast, the Tower of the Damned. I’ll add video soon. Follow @blizzplanetcom for updates. The build is a bit unstable, causing disconnections, however.

Gameplay as Monk felt pretty good in terms of survivability and destroying packs of mobs with anima powers. I have no idea what abilities or rotations to do with a monk, but I liked Monk compared to the other 9 classes I have played in Torghast so far.

Hunter is another class I don’t know rotations for, but same as monk, Hunter survivability and anima powers felt really good. I died once merely for accidentally getting stunned in the middle of a shower of missiles. If you are a hunter, you are going to have a lot of fun in Torghast.

One of the anima powers allows you to drop a Tar Tar Trap and light it up on fire with a Flare. Another ones Ice Trap give the target a debuff to take extra damage.


NEW DUNGEON: MISTS OF TIRNA SCITHE

A new dungeon is available for testing. Mists of Tirna is located at the western side of Ardenweald. However, the zone is not yet available for testing in this build.

This is probably the most annoying dungeon ever.

INGRA MALOCH

This boss uses the same model as Gorak Tul. Ingra is channeling Soul Shackle to control Droman Oulfarran (a local). You have to lower Droman’s health until Ingra becomes invulnerable for a short time. Rinse and repeat while avoiding the AOE spots chasing you when it is channeled, and avoiding stuns in melee range which kinda kill you if the AOE spots spawn beneath you while stunned. This encounter is going to push healers to the brink of insanity.

Cursed to exist outside the cycle of Life and Death, the Drust now seek to circumvent their fate using Ardenweald’s mechanisms of Rebirth. Their would-be conquest has found its way to Tirna Scithe, where Ingra Maloch and his followers use foul magic to subjugate the local inhabitants.

MISTCALLER

The second boss, Mistcaller, sends you back to the entrance to his area (Mistveil Tangle) if you choose the wrong path through the mists. Miscaller taunts you and makes fun of you with the voice of Brightwing: “Don’t get lost♪”

It felt like a groundhog day mechanic. Then during his encounter, he splits into 4 clones with four symbols above his head. You need to kill the one with the symbol that is not similar to the other symbols to force Mistcaller to spawn — which can be confusing at times. If you kill the wrong clone, your health goes down to 20% health.

Something to note in this area is that Drust constructs are invading the locals — who are protecting Tirna Scithe.

Tirna Scithe is defended by force of arms, but also cunning. The playful Mistcaller has used the mists to confuse and disorient invaders. With the Drust attack the Mistcaller cannot easily tell friend from foe, and only after her puzzles and games are defeated can you safely reach the heart of Tirna Scithe.

TRED’OVA

The last boss looks a lot like G’huun (from the Nazmir Uldir raid).

The Gorm have been chewing at the edges of Ardenweald in a desperate search for anima, but the beast called Tred’ova found something else. Lakali, loa of knowledge, is cocooned in Tirna Scithe. Now that Tred’ova has tasted the loa’s power and knowledge, she craves more than survival.

NEW MAPS

The Necrotic Wake dungeon now has a proper map for its three floors.

The Mists of Thirn Scithe dungeon (located in Ardenweald) became available for testing today, and it came out with a map.
