Patch 3.2 – Ironbound and Rusted Proto-Drakes Won’t Be Removed

Awesome news for hardcore and casual dungeon raiders.  Eyonix announced that Blizzard has decided to keep the rusted and ironbound proto-drakes available to players after patch 3.2 is released.  As you know, the loot from the Argent Tournament Coliseum is slightly better than Ulduar gear.  When patch 3.1: Secrets of Ulduar was released, the reward for Heroic: Glory of the Raider 25-man (the Black Proto-drake, 310% speed) and the Glory of the Raider 10-man (Plagued Proto-drake) were removed from the game because the large gap between the Ulduar gear and Naxx gear would patronize the achievement’s difficulty threshold.

Blizzard Quote:
After further discussion, we decided not to remove the rusted and ironbound proto-drake rewards for the normal and heroic Glory of the Ulduar Raider meta achievements when patch 3.2, Call of the Crusade, launches, and currently have no plans to remove them in the foreseeable future. However, we will continue to evaluate the situation and if a decision is made to remove these rewards at any point in the future, we’ll provide a one month warning so players will have time to make some final attempts.
