After completing The War Within 11.2 Ghosts of K’aresh campaign in the Public Test Realm (PTR), I decided to transcribe all 51 quests, progress dialogues, cutscene dialogues, and “Stay awhile and listen” dialogues for people who like to read that sort of lore stuff. Players tend to skip reading the quest text, or are too busy whacking enemies to read the dialogue in the general chat window.

For those who haven’t played the 11.2 PTR or later on the Live servers, there are Spoilers ahead. Below is the 3:48-hour video if you prefer that instead (click the image to start the video on YouTube).

This was transcribed from my gameplay video (not datamined). Many hours of typing. If you liked this work, you may donate via PayPal.

The War Within 11.2 Ghosts of K’aresh Campaign Transcript

Alleria Windrunner was on the hunt for Xal’atath when she received a message from her mentor, Locus-Walker, calling for help. She asked you to meet her in Dornogal. You have traveled to the broker city of Tazavesh, now relocated among the ruins of K’aresh. There you have learned that the brokers and the ethereals are working together to save the remains of their shattered world. You have investigated acts of sabotage in Tazavesh and revealed that the Shadowguard ethereals are the culprits. Before you repair the damage, the Shadowguard launch an attack upon the city in the name of their master, Dimensius the All-Devouring. You stopped the Shadowguard’s assault on Tazavesh with the aid of Alleria and the Locus-Walker. Alleria demands that Locus-Walker introduce us to his mysterious ally. He reveals that it is none other than Xal’atath, the Harbinger.

Alleria: (Name), I've received word from my mentor, Locus-Walker. He warns of a Shadowguard plot that requires our aid. I wonder if he has finally tracked down Xal'atath. Come to the Foundation Hall in Dornogal. We must speak immediately.

Note: Completing the Patch 11.2 Ghosts of K'aresh (5-chapter) campaign rewards The Fate of the Devoured Warband Campsite.

Location: Foundation Hall

Alleria: You want us to abandon our hunt for Xal'atath?

Locus-Walker: Dimensius the All-Devouring is being revived by the Shadowguard. I need your help. I'm glad you are here. I will need your help, as well as Alleria's. The Shadowguard will stop at nothing to revive the Void Lord Dimensius. And we should be concerned -- my home was sundered by the monster. It is no mystery on how things will end if it is not stopped. However, I have been working on a plan... a contingency really, and it is now time to put it into motion.

Locus-Walker: I have been retained by the K'aresh Trust -- a coalition of both broker and ethereal cartels who seek to reclaim K'aresh. The Trust is in desperate need of one of your skills, (Name). The Shadowguard assaults our city and threatens the work of the eco-dome project. Please accompany me.

Quest Objectives: Accompany Locus-Walker and Alleria to Tazavesh.

Locus-Walker: The K'aresh Trust has tasked me with stopping Dimensius and defending Tazavesh.

Alleria: The brokers are from K'aresh?

Locus-Walker: The All-Devouring's attack left us refugees. The Shadowlands demanded stronger containment suits than our wraps.

CUTSCENE

Locus-Walker: Time grows short. Dimensius the All-Devouring stirs.

Alleria: How? Dimensius was slain in the Netherstorm along with Nexus-King Salhadaar.

Locus-Walker: Like the K'areshi people, the All-Devouring was merely shattered and dispersed. On every world the Shadowguard assaulted, they searched for fragments of their master. I have a new ally who revealed the Shadowguard's methods and treacheries to me. Come. We are on the hunt.

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: Welcome to Tazavesh, both of you. We have much to discuss. Your assistance is crucial, as always.

ADDITIONAL DIALOGUE

Om'en: Greetings, and welcome to Tazavesh.

Alleria: I know that Xal'atath must be behind this threat. My long hunt for her draws to a close.

Locus-Walker: Tazavesh has returned to K'aresh to find our enemies waiting for us.

Om'en: I assume these creatures are the assistance you promised, Locus-Walker?

Om'en: Locus-Walker was brought into the Trust to handle such a violent crisis of the Void. He says you are some kind of hero or champion. Good. We are in need of such a thing. Tazavesh is under threat from the Void. The Shadowguard! They threaten the work of the Trust and my reputation as an administrator.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Help the brokers of Tazavesh by assisting with their issues.

  • 0/1 Xy'bin assisted
  • 0/1 Ba'ver assisted
  • 0/1 Ta'ka assisted

DIALOGUE

Om'en: This managerial job in Tazavesh has been one crisis after another. I delegate solving these problems to you.

Alleria: Xal'atath is out there, and we do chores?

Locus-Walker: We must pay the bureaucratic tax if we want free run of the city.

STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN

Om'en: Will more flesh creatures from off-world be arriving to aid the Trust? Nevermind. I'll find the appropriate forms. Best to plan for chaos, or worse, the Maw Walker to return.

Alleria: Who are the Trust?

Locus-Walker: They are a coalition of cartels. Ba, Xy, Zo, and Om, as well as ethereals from the Consortium. Tazavesh was acquired by the Trust's founder to act as a supply port and recreation center for the revitalized Project Eco-Dome.

Om'en: Our eco-domes are threatened by both the Shadowguard and the barbarian Wastelanders. It is more than cartel Zo security can manage. The founder believes that the sinister Ravel sorcerer Locus-Walker can solve this crisis. I am skeptical. The only progress I have noticed is the increase of paperwork on my desk.

Locus-Walker: My student, Alleria Windrunner, and Azeroth's champion (Name) have my full support. I have the founder's. I suggest you give them yours.

Om'en: Very well, I have approved your entry. You have complete access to the city. No need to sneak in or cause trouble.

COMPLETION

Om'en: How goes the various projects of the Trust?

Om'en: All the problems are solved. At least, all the problems that were on my ledger that I was responsible for.

DIALOGUE

Om'en: These aren't accidents -- this is sabotage. The Shadowguard are already in Tazavesh!

Xy'bin: I need help! Arcane manifestations are out of control!

Ta'ka: This must be the new specialist. Help me first!

Xy'bin: Somehow, an artifact in the Menagerie has broken open, unleashing a swarm of furious arcane creatures. They're wreaking havoc, and havoc is bad for the project. I need someone capable of getting this situation under control with no questions asked. If you can get down there, clear your way through the creatures, and seal that artifact... I'll make it worth your while.

QUEST OBJECTIVE

Kill Arcane Creatures and seal the Unstable Artifact.

  • 0% / 100% Arcane entities destroyed
  • Unstable Artifact sealed

Note: Arcane entities to kill: Enchanted Ledger, Unstable Manifestation, Unstable Mote.

COMPLETION

Xy'bin: Have you completed your assignment? You sealed the artifact? Excellent! The remaining creatures should dissipate in time. You've handled the danger with remarkable skill. As promised, here are your rewards.

Ta'ka: I am Ta'ka, supplier of rare creatures destined to repopulate my homeland. At least, I was until some of them escaped their translocation cages! This cannot stand! These creatures are vital. If you could assist me with capturing them, I'd be quite appreciative. Engage them in combat and subdue them. The capture device I've provided will automatically translocate them back to my care once they are on the verge of defeat.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Defeat escaped creatures in Tazavesh to return them to Ta'ka.

  • 0/1 Take the access to the overlook (Optional)
  • 0/8 Escaped creatures recovered

DIALOGUE

Ta'ka: Someone sabotaged the enclosures through that portal.

COMPLETION

Ta'ka: You've returned them! Excellent work. Here is your reward, as promised.

Ba'ver: No, no, no! The Barrier Protectors! You, come here! I need competent assistance!

Ba'ver: This is not a good day! Not at all. My whole shipment of barrier projectors was ransacked! Most of them are gone, and it seems whatever the culprits didn't take, they destroyed. These barrier projectors are essential for securing the wild places on K'aresh, and even the city of Tazavesh. Our efforts are in jeopardy! Please, if you can find any of my shipments it would help us get our efforts back on track.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Collect 8 Stolen Barrier Projectors for Ba'ver.

COMPLETION

Ba'ver: Have you located my barrier projectors?

Ba'ver: Excellent! With these projectors, we can once again secure our homeland. Anyway, you have my thanks for your assitance.

Locus-Walker: Alleria, (Name)... Have you sensed it? The Void lingers in all of this. Whoever is pulling the strings is cloaked in shadow, hiding from us. Come, let's seek them out and drag them into the light before they strike.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Investigate the Void Presence and locate the culprits behind the many troubles in Tazavesh.

  • 0/1 Investigate the Void Presence
  • 0/1 Locate the source
  • 0/1 Speak to Locus-Walker
  • 0/1 Infiltrators defeated

DIALOGUE

Locus-Walker: Do you sense that, Alleria?

Alleria: Yes. A void presence.

Locus-Walker: Get to safety, Om'en. Champion, with me!

Alleria: This void presence is fresh. It hasn't faded at all.

STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN

Alleria: Om'en called you a "Ravel Sorcerer." What did they mean?

Locus-Walker: During the first war against Dimensius, we K'areshi warred against each other as much as we fought against the Void. I was part of the Ravel, a group of technomancers, cartel leaders, and great thinkers. We focused on unorthodox solutions to the Dimensius problem.

Alleria: Who warred against you?

Locus-Walker: King Salhadaar rallied the oracles of K'aresh to his side. They thought to save the world. They almost doomed it. We did not know at the time that the king had given an oath to the All-Devouring.

Alleria: So his hunt in Outland for Dimensius was just-- a ruse?

Locus-Walker: A ploy. He radicalized those in the Etherium seeking out the fragments of Dimensius, for later conscription. The death of Salhadaar did not end the ascendancy of the Shadowguard as many in the Consortium had hoped.

Alleria: How can we win this fight?

Locus-Walker: We must find a way to bring a fighting force to the Shadowguard's manaforge. We must prevent the All-Devouring's return. If Dimensius should emerge fully formed, I know of nothing on this world capable of stopping him.

PROGRESS

(The faint presence of the Void trails off into the city.)

Alleria: (Name), can you see it? Follow the trail!

Locus-Walker: They must be in hiding. On your word I'll drag them from the shadows.

Locus-Walker: I can feel it... They're lurking nearby. Whoever's behind the sabotage is clever, but not clever enough.

(Quest: Let's see who is behind this.)

Locus-Walker: I'll drive them into the open. You must deal with them!

Locus-Walker: My ally warned me the Shadowguard were already in Tazavesh.

Alleria: I sense more movement in the shadows. Get ready! Your mysterious ally was correct.

Locus-Walker: Well fought! Let us return to Om'en and see what more we can uncover.

Note: Nyz'raal the Umbral Blade is defeated.

COMPLETION

Om'en: The Shadowguard! Of course those void-addled fools are behind this. I should have known.

CUTSCENE

Dimensius: Doom...

Locus-Walker: Dimensius the All-Devouring... His return grows ever closer!

Alleria: Invaders!

Locus-Walker: They raid our energy to feed their master. Champion! Windrunner! We have a city to save.

Note: Three campaign quests are unlocked.

  • Heroes Among Shadow
  • Barriers to Entry
  • Sealing the Shadows

Alleria: (Name)! These peopel may not be my own, but we cannot stand by while the Shadowguard cut them down. You and I, we can make a difference! We need to get out there, rescue the civilians, and bring them to safety. The city may be in chaos, but we can still be the shield they need.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Rescue 8 Tazavesh Civilians.

BONUS OBJECTIVES: BREAK THE ASSAULT

0/30 Shadowguard slain

PROGRESS

Shadowguard Darkweaver: The shadows will consume you!

Shadowguard Voidripper: Your light will be extinguished!

Alleria: Go! We'll keep the Shadowguard at bay!

Alleria: This must be Xal'atath! She provokes panic to hide her steps, just as she did in Dalaran.

The civilian gives a slow nod of acknowledgement.

Alleria: Go quickly, we'll protect you!

The civilian gives a flick of their fingers, acknowledging the command and giving thanks.

Alleria: Hurry, find shelter! We won't let them harm you!

Alleria: I believe the Shadowguard worked for Xal'atath, despite the goblin's rumors.

Alleria: Hurry. We'll keep you safe!

Alleria: Flee to safety. We'll take care of this!

They take a shaky step forward, then quickly retreat, still unsure if it's truly safe.

Shadowguard Darkweaver: Feel the void's embrace!

Alleria: Find cover. We'll deal with the threat!

Alleria: Maybe Locus-Walker is right. Xal'atath isn't behind this... She's somewhere, scheming.

The civilian gives a shaky nod.

COMPLETION

Alleria: The people are still out there, (Name)!

Alleria: Good. We made a difference here!

Om'en: No, no, no! The Shadowguard are ransacking the city and our defenses are crumbling! We even invested in new security golems after the city was last breached, but we haven't had time to activate them. Wait... I have an idea. The Shadowguard -- some of them must have looted entropic cores that we can use to activate the golems. Please, you must take them down and retrieve those cores. We need to get those golems online to protect our investments! Uh, I mean, our city!

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Collect 5 Saturated Entropic Cores from Shadowguard within Tazavesh.

PROGRESS

Shadowguard Voidripper: Feel the void's embrace!

Shadowguard Voidripper: You are but a flicker in the Void!

COMPLETION

Alleria: Got those cores that Om'en wanted?

Alleria: These look like they're in good condition! Okay, let's go ahead and move on to the next phase of this plan.

Alleria: The entropic cores we collected will be crucial in our defense. Use the entropic cores to activate the market guardians scattered around the city. Once reactivated, these golems will join our fight and help us push back the invaders. Time is of the essence, (Name). The fate of Tazavesh rests in our hands.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Activate 5 Market Guardians scattered around Tazavesh.

PROGRESS

Alleria: We must get the guardians working again. Tazavesh depends on this technomancy for their survival!

Alleria: These constructs will defend the city. Without soldiers, Tazavesh will never defeat the Shadowguard.

Alleria: The Shadowguard have grown stronger since I last fought them.

COMPLETION

Alleria: Excellent! That'll go a long way toward securing the city.

Locus-Walker: Those barrier projectors we recovered? We need them now. Place them at key points to reinforce the city shield and block more portals from forming. Move swiftly, (Name). This may be our only chance to stop the Shadowguard from flooding in.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Place 8 Barrier Projectors around Tazavesh.

PROGRESS

Locus-Walker: Their leader... where could they be hiding?

Ba'ver: I've fixed the barrier projectors. Set them up. Hurry!

Shadowguard Darkweaver: Your light will be extinguished!

COMPLETION

Alleria: Did you place the barrier projectors? We need to slow down the invasion. Quickly!

Alleria: Well done. The shield around the city looks stronger already. That should buy us some time against the Shadowguard.

Alleria: We've stabilized most of the city and saved as many as we could, but our job isn't over. Locus-Walker must still be out there looking for the enemy commander. We've already searched over most of the city, so he must be in the one place we've not yet looked. Come, (Name). Meet me at Myza's Oasis.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Locate Locus-Walker within Tazavesh.

PROGRESS

Alleria: Let's find Locus-Walker. He was looking for the Shadowguard leader.

Locus-Walker: These broker's containment suits are breached. This will take a while to mend.

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: I found our quarry, but unfortunately not before they broke into this shelter.

Locus-Walker: The commander of the Shadowguard, Shadowlord Al'zar, has assaulted this shelter of the Trust. I am preoccupied with assisting these injured brokers. I dare not leave, or their soul's energy will pour out. I must depend on you, (Name). Venture forth and eliminate Shadowlord Al'zar. His demise will cripple the Shadowguard's assault on Tazavesh. The fate of the city rests on your shoulders.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Kill Shadowlord Al'zar in Tazavesh.

PROGRESS

Alleria: Locus-Walker and I will safeguard the injured. You handle the invasion commander!

Shadowlord Al'zar: We will feed this city to the All-Devouring! The Void conquers all! Locus-Walker: Good. The Commander's death should save the city... for the moment.

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: Go. We will come as soon as we can.

Locus-Walker: Without their leader, the Shadowguard's assault on Tazavesh is crippled! For that, you have my gratitude. (He pauses for a weighty moment). However, do not let this victory lull you into a false sense of security. There are darker forces at play -- far more dangerous than the Shadowguard. To resist them, we will need every advantage we can get... even those we would normally not consider.

CUTSCENE: Not shown in the PTR. Locus-Walker presents Xal'atath as his secret ally against Dimensius. Alleria goes emo, refusing this.

Locus-Walker: I know what you think, (Name). Please understand that even the worst enemies sometimes must work together to defeat an even greater evil. I can't say that I like it, but there is no other way. If anyone knows how to defeat Dimensius and remove his threat from the world, it is her. Please trust me, I... I know what is at stake.

(Quest: How did Dimensius return?

Locus-Walker: When K'aresh was destroyed, it scattered fragments of Dimensius across the Great Dark Beyond. Under the guise of vengeance, Nexus-King Salhadaar sought out untethered fragments of the Void Lord -- only to collect them and reforge him in our dimension.

The Veiled Market: Locus-Walker tries to convince Alleria of the necessity of this unexpected alliance by showing you the threat that the Shadowguard and Dimensius pose to the Trust, and to K’aresh. The K’aresh Trust has been betrayed by Shadowguard infiltrators. To stop them, Xal’atath transforms you into energy using a powerful artifact known as a Reshii Ribbon, just as she transformed the ethereals and brokers ages ago. After helping Ve’nari stabilize and protect Eco-Dome: Primus, you head to the nearby Shadowguard camp to end the threat to the eco-dome and receive Ve’nari’s Reshii Ribbon. You destroyed the Shadowguard base that threatened Eco-Dome: Primus, but the group fractures when Xal’atath reveals secrets from the Locus-Walker’s past, and Alleria confronts him.

Locus-Walker: Dimensius threatens us once more. There is no one who knows his methods better than his former Harbinger, Xal'atath. I would not say we can trust her, but we can work with her. She fears the All-Devouring's wrath after her betrayal. We can't afford to turn away any potential ally. Think how many we will save from the Void Lord's hunger. Get your bearings in this city the four of us saved together. I will convince Alleria.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Speak to citizens of Tazavesh and members of the Trust.

  • 0/1 Talk to the Innkeeper
  • 0/1 Stay awhile and listen to Xal'atath in the inn (Optional)
  • 0/1 Talk to the Quartermaster
  • 0/1 Talk to the Flight Master
  • 0/1 Stay awhile and listen to Alleria at the docks (Optional)

PROGRESS

Alleria: I could never ally with that monster!

Locus-Walker: Windrunner, Dimensius stirs. You must trust me. We have no better options.

Xal'atath: Why are you surprised to see me here, my champion? I can recognize raw power when I see it, and I have had my gaze on you for some time. I am pleased that we are in a position where we need each other. You won't get to Dimensius without me, and I cannot satiate my hatred of the Void Lord without you. I will let you in on a little secret as well. I am in no shape to do this on my own. After all, you helped Alleria foil my plans in Khaz Algar. I need allies to do this, as do you.

Alleria: (Name), this feels like a waking nightmare. I never thought I would be standing here with her, acting as allies. Locus-Walker is putting us all at a great risk just talking to her. I am only here because I trust him. We have been through a lot together. It is the only reason that she still stands. (Alleria sighs). If she tries anything, I will stop her.

(Okay... I'd like to use your services.)

Ba'orr (Innkeeper): Welcome to my inn, fleshling. How may I be of service?

Om'sirik: Ah, the "hero of Tazavesh." You saved our city, so I will give you some advice free of charge -- just this once.

(Quest: What awaits me out there in K'aresh?)

Om'sirik: K'aresh is a dangerous place, fleshling. The wasteland is no place for the faint of heart. It is no place for even my people, and we no longer have hearts! The broken shards of our planet contain dangers in every corner. If you aren't careful, you will stumble into an ambush from deadly ethereals who have gone feral on our former home. Falling into their hands... that is a fate I would not wish on my worst business rival.

Om'thenai (Flight Master): Thank you for saving our city, (Name). We must keep Tazavesh alive. If we are to have the slimmest hope of restoring our world.

(Quest: What waits for me out there?)

Om'thenai (Flight Master): Our world is a shattered husk. Brave K'areshi make the trip over to salvage what we can, but we all know that the problem we feace is an impossible incline.

STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN

Alleria: I had known K'aresh had been destroyed, but it's something else to see it in front of me. Dimensius must pay for this.

Locus-Walker: K'aresh was always harsh and unforgiving. Using our Reshii Ribbons, the oracles turned the Merciles Wastes into a garden.

Alleria: Reshii Ribbons?

Locus-Walker: Relics from old K'aresh that were used by the Ravel, as dangerous as they are powerful.

Xal'atath: So powerful that I betrayed the All-Devouring. I thought the ribbons would deliver me from his service.

Alleria: You were here before! Is this all your doing?

Xal'atath: I was merely the Harbinger to Dimensius. I did not destroy this world. This place brings back memories. Some good, some less, but it matters what you do with them. I thought Alleria would have tried to kill me by now, yet here she is. Perhaps her blind faith in her mentor Locus-Walker is stronger than I thought.

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: There will be a day when K'aresh is restored.

Locus-Walker: This is what we are fighting for, (Name). We can only save fragments of K'aresh, but we can prevent other worlds from sharing our dreadful fate.

Locus-Walker: There is a small island to the northeast of here, called Overlook Zo'Shuul. My scouts have been searching for a way into Manaforge Omega, where we must stop the return of the All-Devouring. If we are fortunate, the scouts have already found a safe pathway inside.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Meet Locus-Walker at Overlook Zo'Shuul.

PROGRESS

Locus-Walker: This is what is at stake. When you look upon my world, do you understand why I would stop at nothing to stop this from happening again?

Locus-Walker: The Trust sent scouts to observe the Shadowguard's manaforge. Come along, (Name).

Location: Overlook Zo'Shuul

Alleria: I can feel a presence. It's... growing.

Locus-Walker: Dimensius. His power is so great that no mortal can approach without being destroyed.

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: I hope my scouts have found a way to safely enter the manaforge.

Alleria: Be careful. We're very close to the enemy.

Xal'atath: I can sense him, (Name). Dimensius. His presence feels heavy, this close to the machinations of the Shadowguard. It is unsettling. Let us resolve this quickly.

Locus-Walker: Dimensius's power is so great that even shattered, his aura radiates a power debilitating to mortal life. It is why the K'areshi were changed to beings of energy -- it was the only way we could survive his presence. I had hoped my scouts could find a path that was safe for you and your compatriots to enter the manaforge. Raz'ida, Lo'shah, and Yanhal should have met us by now. Find them for me. Their information is vital to our defense against the All-Devouring.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Find the scouts at Overlook Zo'Shuul.

  • 0/1 Scout Lo'shah found
  • 0/1 Scout Yanhal found
  • 0/1 Scout Ra'zida found

PROGRESS

Locus-Walker: Alleria and the champion need to enter the manaforge if we are to destroy the All-Devouring. It is dangerous. My scouts search for a means to get you and your allies inside.

Lo'shah: (This ethereal's wrappings have traces of void energy swirling around them. A quick search reveals a hidden, ripped pocket -- its contents gone.)

Yanhal: (This ethereal's wrappings are enveloped by swirls of void energy. The ripped wrappings point to the possibility that this was caused by a sharp blade. There is no sign of a fight -- they might have been surprised by the attacker.)

Raz'ida: The Shadowguard keep their secrets!

Raz'ida:My life... for Dimensius...

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: Raz'ida was a Shadowguard agent? I've trusted her for thousands of years. How did they break her loyalty? If she could be turned, then any of the Trust's agents could as well. It is vital that we get the information about their base, and we can only rely upon the four of us to do so.

Locus-Walker: During the Devouring War, I witnessed the horrific results of the All-Devouring's presence. A mortal being cannot approach him at the manaforge. He is the entropy of the end, and you are just flesh. Xal'atath knows rituals from across the Great Dark Beyond. With the power of the Reshii Ribbons, she was able to transform the K'areshi so they could withstand Dimensius. Alleria will not like this plan. You must convince her!

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Convince Alleria to let Xal'atath perform the ritual of transformation on you.

STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN

Alleria: You were the one that transformed the ethereals and brokers? I was told it was the energies of the Void.

Xal'atath: The Void doesn't transform, it consumes. My skill and the power of the Reshii Ribbons were required to change the K'areshi.

Locus-Walker: The Ravel worked in secret, ensuring our people could survive Dimensius's energies and the inevitable destruction of K'aresh.

Alleria: You didn't tell your people the truth? To this day they think it was Dimensius who changed them.

Xal'atath: The Void feeds on conflict and panic. Had these Ravel villains told the people how they intended to save them, it only would have empowered Dimensius.

Locus-Walker: That's -- not how I would have put it. But she is right that there was neither time nor trust. We had a difficult choice to make.

PROGRESS

Locus-Walker: I knew it would be difficult having Alleria and Xal'atath try to work together. I wish Windrunner could understand the magnitude of the threat that Dimensius poses. When K'aresh faced this threat before, we were only able to survive the shattering of the All-Devouring and our world because of the transformation the Harbinger offered using our Reshii Ribbons. I do not trust her, but I understand her. She needs us to survive, and we need her.

Locus-Walker: We cannot delay, (Name). Grab hold of my Reshii Ribbon. Xal'atath will transmute you into energy, as she did the K'areshi.

Xal'atath: What a shameful loss. Locus-Walker must keep a tighter leash on his minions, don't you think?

(Quest: What do you know about Reshii Ribbons?)

Xal'atath: When I first met them, the members of the Ravel each carried a Reshii Ribbon. The ribbon was both a representation of the status of its wielder, and a conduit through which great energies could be channeled. Hundreds of thousands of years have passed, and it seems their powers have only grown. I can sense Locus-Walker's Reshii Ribbon now, just begging to be unleashed... and a few more in these islands around us.

(Quest: What is your involvement with the Reshii Ribbons and the K'areshi?)

Xal'atath: My dear. (Xal'atath chuckles) That is someone else's secret to tell. Another time, perhaps.

Alleria: This is madness! Don't let that monster touch you!

Alleria: Now I am learning that somehow, Xal'atath had a hand in transmuting the ethereals into what they are today? How did that work for them? They have lost everything. How can Locus-Walker even look at her? I don't know what to think about the Reshii Ribbons either. They sound like dangerous artifacts. What else can they do? What else can Xal'atath do with them? If they are really that powerful, shouldn't we protect them from her?

(Quest: What if it is the only way?)

Alleria: Are you sure, (Name)? This is madness! You and I, we have no idea what she can do with that ribbon. How do I know it will even work? What if it only works on the ethereals' previous form? How do I know if you will come back? What if you are hurt, or worse? All we have is Xal'atath's word for it, which is worth nothing to me! The only lead I have is Locus-Walker and his words that are becoming hollow. I don't know if I can trust him either. You are the only one I can still trust.

(Quest: I understand the risk.)

Alleria: Do it, (Name). I will make sure she restores you.

Xal'atath: With only one ribbon, the transformation is singular and temporary. Your assurance is unnecessary.

Alleria: How did we get to this? All that she has done to us, and she is our best ally? (Alleria clenches her jaw as her gaze shifts to Locus-Walker).

COMPLETION

Objective complete. Locus-Walker's Reshii Ribbon acquired: 1/1

Xal'atath: Every moment spent debating or arguing is a moment closer to Dimensius emerging.

Xal'atath: Even in his weakened state, Dimensius's power is overwhelming. We must work faster, together.

Xal'atath: She agreed? Alleria listens to you, my champion. You are indeed our savior.

Xal'atath: With Locus-Walker's Reshii Ribbon, I can transmute your flesh to energy. It won't hurt much. You will have the ability to travel within Dimensius's aura without being destroyed. There you can search for a path into the manaforge. You will travel in Untethered Space as a creature of energy, ignored by the Shadowguard. Their void beasts however... stay well away or be devoured. Talk to me when you are ready. Time is of the essence.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Search Shadow Point in Untethered Space with Xal'atath's help.

  • 0/1 Talk to Xal'atath
  • 0/1 Conduit examined
  • 0/1 Manaforge entrance examined

PROGRESS

  • (Quest: I am ready for the transmutation ritual.)
  • (Quest: I'm watching you, Xal'atath. Perform your ritual, but nothing else.)

Location: Shadow Point

Xal'atath: You are now like the ethereals and brokers were -- an untethered soul composed of energy.

1/1 Talk to Xal'atath

Xal'atath: This conduit connects to the garrison. We should check for entry closer to the manaforge.

1/1 Conduit examined

Xal'atath: These pipes aren't just carrying energy, but untethered souls too. The Shadowguard is manufacturing an army.

1/1 Manaforge entrance examined

Xal'atath: All pathways to the manaforge pass through the aura of Dimensius. Only a being composed of energy would survive. We will need more than Locus-Walker's ribbon. With only one ribbon, the transformation fades and you are beset by the power of Dimensius. Do not fret, my champion. I'll save you.

COMPLETION

Xal'atath: I have infused these Reshii Wraps with the remaining power of my ritual. Not enough to get to Dimensius, but with time you will learn the secrets of Untethered Space.

Xal'atath: You would never reach Dimensius without the Reshii Ribbons, and my help.

Locus-Walker: Xal'atath is correct. We need more than my one Reshii Ribbon to get a force to Dimensius. There is an eco-dome south of here. The founder of the Trust is there, overseeing its operation. She acquired the domes from the Consortium. She claims they will be the key to restoring K'aresh. I am skeptical anything will be safe now that Dimensius stirs. She was a member of the Ravel and possesses a Reshii Ribbon. Surely she would lend it to us.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Meet Locus-Walker at Eco-Dome: Primus.

PROGRESS

Alleria: Why did you even help the Ravel in the first place, Xal'atath?

Xal'atath: The same reason I'm helping you. The promise of an end to the All-Devouring.

Location: Eco-Dome: Primus

Ve'nari: I asked for your help, Locus-Walker. Instead, you've dragged the Harbinger to my dome.

Ve'nari: Lending is not something I do without something in return, and especially for something as powerful as a Reshii Ribbon. You'll have to work for it. My eco-dome needs all the help I can coerce from my friends.

Xal'atath: Hundreds of thousands of years, and Ve'nari is still as suspicious as ever. How nostalgic. (Xal'atath chuckles) We must convince her to contribute to the greater good, my champion.

Alleria: The Shadowguard skulk in the shadows, but they will not extinguish the hope in this eco-dome. If we can do anything to preserve this place, we must do it, (Name).

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: The Shadowguard attacked the eco-dome. They must covet the vast stores of energy needed to shield the delicate biomes from the Void of K'aresh.

Locus-Walker: Do not be fooled by Ve'nari's demeanor. She has the best interests of K'aresh at her heart. She even swore an oath to restore K'aresh, and there is nothing more binding in our society than an oath. We must play by her rules and earn her assistance. I promise it will be worth it.

Ve'nari: My Reshii Ribbon is all that is keeping this dome and its systems from collapsing. This eco-dome took too much of my fortune to build just for the Shadowguard to destroy it. They have sabotaged many of our control consoles, risking a complete ecological collapse. Find Engineer Om'loof and help him restart our environmental support system while I monitor the rest of the facility.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Help Engineer Om'loof in Eco-Dome: Primus.

  • 0/1 Speak to Engineer Om'loof
  • 0/1 Rod of Parameters used
  • 0/1 Rod of Analysis used
  • 0/1 Rod of Analysis acquired
  • 0/1 Rod of Analysis replaced
  • 0/1 Rod of Restart used

STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN

Ve'nari: I thought you were just going to consult the Harbinger. Not bring her along.

Xal'atath: I insisted. Last time, the Ravel was unable to complete the straightforward task it was given. I need to look after my interests. I need to know that we will bring an end to Dimensius.

Ve'nari: Is that so? Then if you insist on being part of this venture, I am going to put you to work. Don't just float around making sassy remarks. Make yourself useful and kill some Shadowguard.

Alleria: Do you really trust her?

Ve'nari: I trust her to do whatever she needs to survive. We share a purpose. To kill the All-Devouring. That may change once Dimensius is dead. Don't just stand there scowling at each other. Get to work! My dome is in crisis!

PROGRESS

Ve'nari: The only thing holding everything together is my Reshii Ribbon. I spent my fortune to acquire these eco-domes. I won't let them collapse. (Name)! Stabilize the dome! The rest of you, secure this area. The Shadowguard are everywhere!

Engineer Om'loof: You shouldn't be here, stranger.

(Quest: Ve'nari sent me to help you.)

1/1 Speak to Engineer Om'loof

Engineer Om'loof: Quickly mortal, before we lose environmental support. Activate the rods!

1/1 Rod of Parameters used

Engineer Om'loof: Good! Now get the next rod!

1/1 Rod of Analysis used

Engineer Om'loof: Ahh! The rod cracked! Get me a new one! Go!

Cartel Om Botanist: All these dead animals. We have to fix the environmental support!

Cartel Om Botanist: It better happen soon or all our animals either die or become frenzied by void-touch.

1/1 Rod of Analysis acquired

Engineer Om'loof: Ahh! Structural integrity acceptable. We might survive this. Next rod!

1/1 Rod of Restart used

Engineer Om'loof: Did it work? Yes! System stable. Ha! Tell Ve'nari we won't explode.

COMPLETION

Ve'nari: This eco-dome will fall if the environmental support system stops. We must stabilize it!

Ve'nari: Energy control systems may be stabilized, but the biomes will still crash without my ribbon.

Ve'nari: Environmental support may be back up and running, but don't get complacent. That was merely the first of the many problems plaguing this eco-dome.

Ve'nari: Just like Engineer Om'loof, I have hired more well-regarded, highly trained, expensive management consultants from cartel Om. Two of them have not reported in. Are they dead, or just distracted again? Find botanist Om'nittar and shield technician Om'door. Get their damage reports. I need to know if the attack caused any lasting damage to my dome.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Find botanist Om'nittar and shield technician Om'door and bring their reports to Ve'nari.

  • 0/1 Botanist Om'nittar found
  • 0/6 Void Creepers dealt with
  • Botanic Report received
  • 0/1 Botanist Om'door found
  • 0/8 Void Spores collected
  • 0/1 Technician Report received

PROGRESS

1/1 Botanist Om'nittar found

Om'nittar: Stranger! What a mess! The eco-dome's containment system went down for a brief moment and several void creepers took advantage of it. Will you help me get rid of them?

6/6 Void Creepers dealt with

Om'nittar: Thank you, stranger. What brought you to me?

(Quest: Ve'nari is asking for your report.)

1/1 Botanic Report received

Om'nittar: Yes, yes. Of course. We have lost a small number of plants, but luckily, these were not rare and will replenish with time. I wish to see K'aresh bloom, or at least have the eco-domes reminding us of a time long ago where everything was better -- a time before the Void Lord, before the Harbinger, before our world shattered and our lives collapsed. Alas, I shouldn't bother you with such things. Tell Ve'nari that I have it all under control.

1/1 Technician Om'door found

Om'door: Who are you? What are you doing in here? I don't have the time to chat with a fleshling unless you came here to tell me it is time for a break.

(Quest: Ve'nari wanted to make sure you were still alive.)

Om'door: I am alive, yes. I have been trying to collect these void spores ever since the attack. I am tired. Maybe you can take over for a bit?

8/8 Void Spores collected

Om'door: Thank you for the help. I can take it from here. Is there anything I can do for you in return?

(Quest: Ve'nari is asking for your report.)

1/1 Technician Report received

Om'door: Ah, I see. Tell Ve'nari that the shield integrity is in good shape. Luck was on our side this time, as the Shadowguard attack was focused on control consoles rather than the eco-dome itself. I will keep surveying everything, enhancing some key locations with arcane energy before moving back to the usual maintenance routine.

Shield Technician Report: "A report regarding the integrity of all shield generators within Eco-Dome: Primus. This report shows a myriad of tables and charts, as well as a long checklist of eco-dome quadrants."

COMPLETION

Ve'nari: Are they alive? Good. Next time they forget to check in, they won't be. (Ve'nari skims through the reports.) It looks like there was minimal damage, if any at all, to most of the facility. The Shadowguard saboteurs were focused on rerouting our energy reserves to the outer conduits. They have ignored the environmental and secondary systems.

Ve'nari: The Shadowguard attack caused chaos and disarray in this dome. Several control consoles have powered down, and my consultants are stretched thin reviving their assigned biomes and systems. This is where you come in, (Name). It's an easy, but critical job. Find the disabled consoles and make sure they restart.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Activate the disabled control consoles in Eco-Dome: Prime.

  • 0/1 Biome Z-22 stabilized
  • 0/1 Biome V-37 stabilized
  • 0/1 Biome D-28 stabilized

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: Dangling your ribbon in front of us so we do your dirty work. You haven't changed, Ve'nari.

Ve'nari: I'll give the traveler the ribbon when it's not the only thing keeping the biomes in this dome alive!

Location: Biodome Z-22

Control Console Z-22: (This control console was tampered with. It looks like all the activation rods are in place, but something is bugging the system. There is a small Shadowguard device attached to its side.)

1/1 Biome V-37 stabilized

Control Console Z-22: (The control console monitors the nitrate levels of plants from a distant world said to be covered with lush meadows and lakes.)

Control Console V-37: (This control console shows high pressure build-up. You can hear a rattle coming from the panel.)

(Quest: Sometimes applying force is the best solution.)

Shadowguard Assassin: This dome's energy will feed Dimensius!

Shadowguard Assassin: For the -- All-Devouring...

1/1 Biome V-37 stabilized

1/1 Rod of Activation collected: "This fragile crystal rod is required to activate a control console."

1/1 Bione D-28 stabilized

COMPLETION

Ve'nari: Are all the consoles operational? No? Go switch them on!

Ve'nari: The systems may be stabilized, but the Shadowguard continue to raid the eco-dome for its energy.

Ve'nari: Good work, (Name). The interior of the dome is stabilized. All the eco-dome systems are functioning. My investment in the eco-domes will continue to pay dividends. Unless the Shadowguard attack again.

Ve'nari: We may have driven the saboteurs out of the dome and repaired its systems, but that doesn't mean the Shadowguard is done with my domes. They're still hiding at the perimeter, trying to find a way to harvest the vast amounts of expensive energy needed to power the eco-dome. I need you to fight them off. Then maybe this attack will truly end.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Kill 7 Shadowguard around Eco-Dome: Primus.

  • 0/7 Shadowguard forces slain

COMPLETION

Ve'nari: Did you get them all? Or are there still Shadowguard hiding around the perimeter, damaging my dome?

Ve'nari: Good. That will buy us enough time to secure this dome.

Xal'atath: We can't have you patrolling the perimeter of this dome, like the city watch fighting attackers in perpetuity. We need a permanent solution so we can continue with our noble quest. Take these crystals. They've been attuned to the eco-dome's defense magics. Just place them near strategic parts of the perimeter to strengthen the magical defenses. What> This time it's no trick. If this dome explodes, I'll never get to destroy Dimensius.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Place 4 Xal'atath defenses around Eco-Dome: Primus.

  • 0/4 Defense Matrices placed

PROGRESS

1/4 Defense Matrices placed

Xal'atath: Some time alone to get things done. I adore watching you work.

2/4 Defense Matrices placed

Xal'atath: Alleria has been quiet. I think she's still angry at me about Dalaran.

3/4 Defense Matrices placed

Xal'atath: There aren't many who Alleria trusts, aside from Locus-Walker. A foolish exception to a wise rule.

4//4 Defense Matrices placed

Xal'atath: First, let's destroy the All-Devouring. Then we see what becomes of our partnership.

COMPLETION

Xal'atath: Have you placed the crystals I gave you? Ve'nari won't give up her ribbon until her dome is secure.

Xal'atath: That should secure this dome. But will Ve'nari make us float through any more hoops?

Ve'nari: I cannot reliquish my Reshii Ribbon just yet, (Name). Not while the Shadowguard assaults my eco-dome from their camp in Serrated Peaks. Take teh fight to them! If you decimate their forces, they will stop this assault. Bring Locus-Walker's apprentice, Alleria. She looks like she knows how to handle herself in a fight. She also keeps staring daggers at the Harbinger, and I don't have time to play peacemaker between those two.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Kill 12 Shadowguard forces in Serrated Peaks.

  • 0/12 Shadowguard forces eliminated

PROGRESS

Ve'nari: Destroy the Shadowguard's camp, and I'll give my Reshii Ribbon to the cause.

Alleria: I'll go with (Name). Meet me at the camp.

Location: Serrated Peaks

Alleria: I can sense Xal'atath buzzing about you. Don't listen to her lies.

COMPLETION

Alleria: The Shadowguard are still attacking. Did you decimate their numbers yet?

Alleria: Good job, (Name). That should satisfy Ve'nari.

Xal'atath: My defenses will kill the Shadowguard who may threaten our little agreement with dear Ve'nari. I know you must be so very disappointed. Killing is what you're best at, isn't it?

Xal'atath: An ethereal army runs on its energy siphons. Interrupt the flow of energy by destroying their siphon tower, and the army will pull back. It's one of their weaknesses as minions. Normally I wouldn't share the secrets of their defeat, but they betrayed me and will forever live with the consequences. The siphon has a control console that can be overloaded to collapse the system. It will be shielded by a void barrier. Alleria can remove it for you.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Destroy the Ethereal Siphon in Serrated Peaks.

  • 0/1 Ethereal Siphon Barrier removed
  • 0/1 Ethereal Siphon Console overloaded

PROGRESS

Alleria: I can sense Xal'atath buzzing about you. Don't listen to her lies.

Alleria: I don't know who to trust anymore, (Name). But we can't lose track of Xal'atath.

Ethereal Siphon Barrier removed: 1/1

Alleria: Stay with her. Let her think you are her champion.

Ethereal Siphon Console overloaded: 1/1

COMPLETION

Alleria: Now the Shadowguard will have to retreat.

Alleria: I feel like there is something Locus-Walker and Ve'nari are keeping from me. Some secret during the Devouring War that they don't want me to know. Xal'atath is pulling on this doubt to manipulate me. Let's defeat the Shadowguard, then we can uncover the truth.

Xal'atath: Of all the assets on the field of battle, the troops are the most expendable. I've sent enough to their destruction to know this as a fact. If we are to safeguard this dome for Ve'nari and get her Reshii Ribbon, we should destroy their cannons. Those cannons are easily worth the lives of all of their soldiers. Destroy them and their commanders will sound the retreat. Most field commanders would never admit this as it's bad for morale, but you seem like the type that can handle uncomfortable truths.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Destroy 3 Shadowguard Cannons in Serrated Peaks.

PROGRESS

(You receive item: Nullbomb)

Shadowguard Cannons destroyed: 1/3

Alleria: I sense Xal'atath buzzing about you. Don't listen to her lies.

Xal'atath: I'm not the one lying to you about what happened to K'aresh.

Shadowguard Cannons destroyed: 2/3

Xal'atath: The world breaking apart shattered Dimensius. He wouldn't do that to himself.

Shadowguard Cannons destroyed: 3/3

Xal'atath: Who controlled the Reshii Ribbons? Who wanted the Void Lord destroyed?

Alleria: What are you saying? I've had enough of your whispers!

COMPLETION

Alleria: Taking out these cannons will force the Shadowguard's retreat. I would not listen to Xal'atath's ideas on ethics of command, though.

Alleria: Without their cannons, the Shadowguard's attacks on the eco-dome are doomed to failure. Ve'nari won't have need of her Reshii Ribbon. I'm more and more unsettled by this plan of ours, though -- the secrets... this Alliance with Xal'atath... I fear Locus-Walker made a mistake thousands of years ago, and we cannot escape that ancient mistake.

Alleria: I need to focus on the mission. Regardless of my doubts about our companions, the Shadowguard are a scourge. We should slay their Shadow-Captain so they cannot easily return to Eco-Dome: Primus. Ve'nari would lend her Reshii Ribbon to our cause, and we would discover if my trust in Locus-Walker was well placed. I will not let my doubts stay my bow on the battlefield, (Name). You can trust me to hunt these followers of Dimensius.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Kill Shadow-Captain Lakheesh.

PROGRESS

Shadow-Captain Lakheesh: You won't live to see Dimensius rise!

Xal'atath: Come find me and I will reveal the truth. No more secrets.

COMPLETION

Xal'atath: With that necessary violence taken care of, the three of us can talk. You are correct, Alleria. Great secrets have been kept from you. Secrets that were not mine to reveal but should have been revealed to you years ago.

Xal'latath: Seeing you two on the battlefield was beautiful. It really is wonderful watching you work. If only your so-called friends had trusted you with the truth of their actions so long ago. Locus-Walker hasn't tried to deceive you with his actions in the present, though his actions in the past that led us to this point... he has been less than forthcoming about. In all good conscience, I cannot continue hiding the truth from you or Alleria.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Find Alleria in Eco-Dome: Primus.

PROGRESS

Xal'latath: The All-Devouring didn't destroy the world. The Ravel destroyed K'aresh to kill Dimensius.

Alleria: No... no, they couldn't have. You are lying!

Xal'latath: Ask them...

Location: Eco-Dome: Primus

Xal'atath: I am glad to take the fight to the doorstep of our enemies. (Xal'atath smiles.) We work so well together... we must make a habit of it.

Alleria: Locus-Walker. Could he have... (Alleria shakes her head.)

Alleria: I deserve the truth, Locus-Walker!

(Quest: Play Movie (CUTSCENE) - Are you alright, Alleria?)

REAL-TIME CUTSCENE (RTC)

Alleria confronts Locus-Walker about the truth behind K'aresh's destruction.

He admits the Ravel struck a deal with Xal'atath: she would help them save their people in return for destroying K'aresh.

Locus-Walker insists it was the only way for them to survive Dimensius, but Alleria's trust in him is broken. She throws the Reshii Ribbon down and storms off.

COMPLETION

Ve'nari: This is just like the Harbinger to fulfill her oaths to the letter, but leave her allies devastated. If there was any other way to stop the All-Devouring from rising once more... With my Reshii Ribbon, you are a step closer toward reaching Dimensius. But you will need at least twice as many to get a force large enough past his dread aura. Good luck, (Name). Watch the Harbinger's every move.

Ve'nari: The threat of the Shadowguard to Eco-Dome: Primus is over. My Reshii Ribbon is no longer needed to protect this asset. Take it. Use it wisely. Protect the greatest investment of all -- our existence. Stay focused! The Harbinger has already driven off one member of your team. Once you get enough Reshii Ribbons, you still need to fight Dimensius. Find allies who will stand with us, in addition to artifacts.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Take Ve'nari's Reshii Ribbon.

0/1 Ve'nari's Reshii Ribbon acquired

PROGRESS

Ve'nari: Take my Reshii Ribbon. Defeat the All-Devouring.

Ve'nari's Reshii Ribbon acquired: 1/1

COMPLETION

Ve'nari: You have my ribbon. Go -- track down the rest. Have Locus-Walker contact the other members of the Ravel. Ask the Harbinger if she knows any ancient horrors that have acquired one. Remember rule twelve -- it's who you know.

The Void of Truths: The Locus-Walker is shaken by Alleria’s loss of trust in him, but the threat of Dimensius grows. You lead your remaining companions on the hunt for other members of the Ravel to gain their Reshii Ribbons. You arrived at Eco-Dome: Rhovan only to discover it destroyed, overrun, and the holder of the Reshii Ribbon murdered by barbaric Wastelanders. Your companions had history with these former oracles of the Worldsoul, and Xal’atath believes they would make excellent allies. But to gain their aid, the Locus-Walker has to return to Tazavesh. Xal’atath enacts a plan to ally the hostile Wastelanders to your cause. Under her direction, you prepare to draw out the leader of the group. After summoning and defeating a creature of the Void in the Wastelander’s camp, you are confronted by their chieftain, Soul-Scribe. Xal’atath offers her the chance to speak once more with the Worldsoul K’aresh, in exchange for her warriors and Reshii Ribbon. You prepare for the ritual with the help of Xal’atath, who confides in you that she isn’t certain Soul-Scribe or K’aresh still have the strength to complete the ritual. Soul-Scribe was unable to complete the ritual and was about to attack. Xal’atath’s forced the former oracle into contact with the Worldsoul K’aresh, saving you from the Wastelander’s wrath. Grateful, Soul-Scribe pledged her Reshii Ribbon and her tribe to your cause against the Shadowguard.

Locus Walker: I will not make excuses for what we did. I will carry the responsibility of it for the rest of my existence. Alleria will come to understand why it was necessary. When she sees the power of the All-Devouring, she will understand. We will need at least two more Reshii Ribbons to bring enough of a force to bear against Dimensius. My friend Om'bera is a holder of a ribbon. She works in Eco-Dome: Rhovan on the next island. Let us gather her to our cause.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Meet Locus-Walker at Eco-Dome: Rhovan.

PROGRESS

Ve'nari: (Name), I want to thank you for what you have done here. In the long run, you have made sure that we have a chance of reforming K'aresh to what it was prior to our... actions. Your friend, Alleria... she is right about the Harbinger. Never shut an eye when she is near you, and be worried when she is not.

Locus Walker: We will need another ribbon. The Dome Administrator Om'bera was in the Ravel. We should seek her out.

Xal'atath: She sounds trusting. Eager to give up power when asked.

Location: Eco-Dome Rhovan

Locus Walker: What has happened here? Where is Om'bera?

Om'resh: A meteor destroyed the dome. We fled together, but Om'bera is missing! So much destruction. We had hoped to salvage some of our work. Could it all be lost?

(What happened to the eco-dome?)

Om'resh: The instability between K'aresh and the Void is growing. We were working in the eco-dome when a huge rift tore the sky open. The meteor came crashing down, barely missing us. We rushed to rescue what we could, and brought the animals and plants that survived to the Oasis.

Xal'atath: Can you feel the void energy? The longer it takes us to defeat Dimensius, the more shredded the barrier between this world and the Void will become. His power grows, and this is but a small example of what will crash down upon K'aresh.

COMPLETION

Locus Walker: The dome is shattered and Om'bera may be in danger! I can see the scavengers from the wastelands of K'aresh within it now. Om'bera may yet live. We must find her, and her Reshii Ribbon.

Om'resh: When the meteor struck, Om'bera and I tried to salvage what we could. Without the dome's shield, we were soon beset upon by scavengers of the Great Dark Beyond. We fled and were separated. Such creatures are not of K'aresh, and hostile to the stable biomes we sought to achieve. We need to clear these invasive creatures to find our equipment, and Om'bera.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Kill 10 invasive creatures in Eco-Dome: Rhovan.

COMPLETION

Om'resh: This was once a thriving eco-dome of the Trust. Our research worked toward the restoration of K'aresh.

Om'resh: Thank you. Those creatures would soon overwhelm us if left unchecked. It's amazing they can survive without the protective barrier of the dome, without becoming energy as the K'areshi did. I wonder if such resilient traits could be transferred to the few native species in our domes?

Locus-Walker: Eco-Dome: Rhovan was shattered by a falling chunk of void glass, destroying the structure and scattering its caretakes. They have returned to recover whatever equipment, flora, or fauna can be salvaged before the wastes claim them. Search the ruins to find any clues of Overseer Om'bera's fate. We must have her Reshii Ribbon! Om'resh and I will search the impact crater.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Search Eco-Dome: Rhovan for Om'bera.

  • 0/1 Clue found
  • 0/1 Om'bera found
  • 0/1 Dagger collected

PROGRESS

Om'resh: She was right behind me! I should have... I should...

Locus-Walker: She may yet be within! I will stay with you while the champion searches the dome.

Supply Crates Manifest found: 1/1

Supply Crates Manifest: "A clipboard with neatly scrawled writting in a mixture of glyphs and Common, detailing supply crates that were in Eco-Dome: Rhovan."

Locus-Walker: A manifest of supply crates Om'bera was hoping to retrieve. No sign of her. Keep looking.

Om'bera found: 1/1

Om'bera: (Om'bera lies still on the ground, surrounded by the remains of some of her attackers. She seems to have put up a fight before she was defeated.)

Xal'atath: Dead. Her Reshii Ribbon is nowhere to be found. Has the Shadowguard divined our plan?

Dagger collected: 1/1

Curved Dagger: "A wickedly sharp, curved dagger."

Xal'atath: A Tabiqa ritual dagger, once wielded by the oracles of K'aresh.

Locus-Walker: They are "Wastelanders" now, assassins sworn to slay the Ravel. They must have killed Om'bera and taken her ribbon.

Om'resh: I can't believe she's gone. We havebeen a team for thousands of years.

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: Could Om'bera still be somewhere within the wreckage?

Locus-Walker: The Wastelanders killed Om'bera and took her Reshii Ribbon. These fallen oracles have harried all members of the Ravel since the Devouring War. This is a grim day.

Om'resh: The loss of an eco-dome is unimaginable. The death of Om'bera... (The broker's shoulders rise and fall in what looks like a sigh, though no breath is heard.) I cannot leave without retrieving the research crates! Her work must live on, even if she cannot. Om'bera's manifest says that there were at least five crates full of research and resources.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Return 5 Stolen Research Crates to Om'resh.

  • 0/5 Stolen Research Crate
  • 0/1 Stolen Crates returned
  • 0/1 Talk to Locus-Walker

PROGRESS

Om'resh: This project meant everything to Om'bera. What took years to build was destroyed so quickly.

Locus-Walker: Come, let us retrieve her research and ensure her efforts were not in vain.

Stolen Research Crate: 5/5

Stolen Research Crate: "Sand coats the outside of this stolen crate. Within are research materials and resources from Eco-Dome: Rhovan."

Locus-Walker: We did not make it far before we were attacked by Wastelanders. They are very determined.

Xal'atath: Looks like we're about to have company again.

Wastelander Assassin: Ravel traitor! Your Reshii Ribbon will be ours, Locus-Walker!

(Quest: It's not safe here.)

Talk to Locus-Walker: 1/1

Locus-Walker: Agreed. The Wastelanders may return. Let's move to a safer location.

Om'resh: The fouonder gave me a portation tag to safeguard her investments in an emergency.

COMPLETION

Om'resh: I don't understand the Wastelanders. I thought they were once oracles of Untamed K'aresh. Nature worshipers. Why do they steal from our domes and prevent the Trust's mission?

Om'resh: Thank you for retrieving the crates. Om'bera's research will help us find a stable biome in time.

Xal'atath: These Wastelanders are still holding a grudge against you. Leave us. Keep your Reshii Ribbon safe. My champion and I will turn these murderous fanatics to our cause.

Xal'atath: Those Wastelanders have that broker's ribbon. We must get it back or you will never be able to reach Dimensius. They are deliciously bloodthirsty. I think we should lure them to our cause. We need an army for the coming battle, and they have the numbers for that. The void glass lies between their camp and us. That might provide a means to manipulate -- speak with the Wastelanders.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Meet Xal'atath in the tempest Fields.

  • Talk to Xal'atath (Optional)
  • Meet Xal'atath at the Tempest Fields

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: The oracles, now known as the Wastelanders, have turned their viciousness against the Ravel. And now they're using their Tabiqa ritual daggers for murder. Lapsed pacifists are always the most vicious fighters, don't you think?

(Quest: Why do the Wastelanders want to kill Locus-Walker?)

Xal'atath: Locus-Walker struggled to keep his secrets and still ended up hated and feared by the K'areshi. These oracles abandoned their ceremonial daggers and picked up assasination knives. Nexus-King Salhadaar betrayed the Ravel. The Ravel used their Reshii Ribbons too early, and Dimensius was dispersed instead of destroyed. Perhaps this is my fault? I should have placed all the factions on K'aresh under my heel from the start. Or perhaps there was nothing that could have been done? Life is chaos. Even if one controls vast cosmic power, there are still events out of your control. No use crying over shattered worlds is there?

(Quest: What is the Tabiqa ritual?)

Xal'atath: The Tabiqa was the clumsy ritual the oracles once used to commune with their Worldsoul, K'aresh. It was central to their identity as a people, as the ritual was when they would gather as a community and worship. The dagger used to be for harvesting their sacred plants. Now it's apparently for burying in the chests of Ravel members.

Locus-Walker: We cannot risk the Wastelanders claiming my ribbon. I... I will return to the safety of Tazavesh. I will bring Om'bera back to the city. I do not liek leaving you alone in this task, but Xal'atath is correct. The Wastelanders will not deal with you if I am present.

STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN

Xal'atath: I think this latest complication is yoru fault, Locus-Walker. These Wastelanders are your old enemies, the oracles of K'aresh. I remember how much trouble they caused you in the Devouring war. Are they why you failed to kill Dimensius? The holy class are always the most savage fighters during an apocalypse. We could use that. If we could get them to parley, I could convince them to fight for us. We are trying to save the world -- this time.

Om'resh: You can't mean to try to ally with those murderers!

Locus-Walker: Much as I would like to see them pay, Xal'atath is right. They are fierce warriors, and would be useful in the battle to come.

Location: The Tempest Fields

Xal'atath: Come, (Name). Let me show you how to manifest an army. I have a plan to draw the Wastelanders to our side. These savages appreciate strength, so we'll show them yours. Let's get their attention, shall we?

(Quest: How did the void glass get here?)

Xal'atath: As Dimensius's power grows, the barrier between K'aresh and the Void shatters. The meteors, this glass, the creatures here -- the Void oozes into this reality, taking over until only a twisted unreality remains. The longer it takes us to defeat Dimensius, the more his power will grow -- and the more the Void will consume what is left of this pitiful planet.

COMPLETION

Xal'atath: The aura of Dimensius is tearing what's left of K'aresh apart. Soon he will draw in what remains of this little world. Our time to stop him grows shorter by the hour.

Xal'atath: The Wastelanders were once the oracles of the Worldsoul of K'aresh. They were so proud and strident about their oaths. Now they scavenge the ruins like animals. Even rats have their uses. Gather void cleft essences for me. I have an idea of how we might sway the fallen oracles to our cause.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Bring 6 Void Cleft Essences to Xal'atath in the Tempest Fields.

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: I sense void essence about you. It will make a perfect lure.

Xal'atath: I have a plan to draw the Wastelanders to our side. These savages appreciate strength, so we'll show them yours. Let's get their attention, shall we?

(Quest: How did this void glass get here?)

COMPLETION

Xal'atath: Many denizens of the Void are voracious consumers of energy. They greedily flock to pockets of coalesced energy like moths to a flame.

Xal'atath: Well done, my champion. We shall use this to draw out our prey.

Xal'atath: Violent scavengers of the Void have been drawn to Dimensius's aura to feast upon the scraps he will leave behind. This presents a problem for our Wastelander friends. Scavenging is their job. They could handle these beasts -- I would not be seeking to ally with them if they couldn't. But why not give them a gift, and show them you are their equal -- no, their superior in combat?

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Kill 4 Void Terrors and 8 Unreal Observers.

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: To gain access to their camp, we must impress them with your combat prowess. We'll start with these void creatures.

COMPLETION

Xal'atath: Dimensius's power grows and the Wastelanders are feeling the pinch. Let us ease the pressure for them a bit.

Xal'atath: These Wastelanders respect strength and violence. I think we're going to get along quite well.

Xal'atath: The Wastelanders have made camp in the ruins of old K'aresh. A sanctuary from the ravenous beasts of the Void that stalk the wastes of K'aresh. A bulwark against outsiders. If a hostile entity were to enter their camp, you could defeat it -- then they would respect you. Take the void energy you gathered into the ruined tower north of here. Be ready!

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Place the coalesced void energy in the Castigar.

  • 0/1 Coalesced void energy placed
  • 0/1 Zagithav slain
  • 0/1 Talk to Soul-Scribe

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: We need to talk to their leader. Nothing attracts leaders like a crisis. Let's go cause one, and then solve it.

Zagithav the Essence Gorger: Consume!

Lash'ir: You fought well. I won't kill you for trespass... yet. Follow me.

Soul-Scribe: This stranger is an ally of the Ravel! Why does their soul remain tethered?

Narathe: They fought the Void. We should hear their words before execution.

Soul-Scribe: You are the one who has been seen in the company of the betrayer, Locus-Walker. The only reason you're not untethered is that my scouts have seen you reducing the number of enemies we face. You disposed of Zagithav, so I will allow you to flee -- if you leave now.

(Quest: Play Movie - We're here seeking allies.)

CUTSCENE

Soul-Scribe: We know you serve the Ravel, intruder. And we swore to King Salhadaar that we would slay all of their minions.

Xal'atath: Then it's fortunate he's dead.

Soul-Scribe: That voice... the Harbinger!

Xal'atath: There's no need for that. Not when we seek to end Dimensius for good. Though we will require the Reshii Ribbons you took from the Ravel corpses.

Soul-Scribe: No! They used those accursed ribbons to destroy our world! We were powerless to stop them. But we will fulfill our oath to kill them!

Xal'atath: And your failure will yet remain. This broken world is not yet finished... But it will be if the All-Devouring returns. Help me annihilate Dimensius. The Ravel can always come next.

Soul-Scribe: We will hear you out. For now.

Xal'atath: The Wastelanders are so deliciously bloodthirsty. I admire how straightforward their tactics are. We need a more delicate approach to winning them over, however. We need both the Reshii Ribbons they hold and the support of their warriors for the coming battle with Dimensius. But first, let's move somewhere with less distractions.

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: Dimensius destroyed K'aresh. Here in the wastes of Merciless K'aresh, we mete out punishment for all who failed him. You say your oaths align with ours? Let us talk.

Soul-Scribe: Pretty promises, but I am not convinced.

Xal'atath: You've impressed these Wastelanders with your violent prowess, my champion. Well done. Now let me do my work. I know what these former oracles want. They dream of hearing the Song of K'aresh once more. I must make them believe it is possible, then pull on that string of desire. Soon we will have our army, and another Reshii Ribbon. First, let's return the Tabiqa ritual dagger.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Convince Soul-Scribe to join forces.

  • 0/1 Dagger returned
  • 0/1 Talk to Xal'atath
  • 0/1 Meet Xal'atath in the upper camp

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: I know what you yearn for, oracle. You are no longer oath-bound to a dead king. Join our fight against Dimensius and hear the Radiant Song once more. A gift for you. You misplaced this dagger in a broker. We return it, freely.

(Quest: Let's move to the upper camp.)

Soul-Scribe: My warriors are eager to untether the Shadowguard. But I think you want the ribbon I took from that Ravel broker.

Xal'atath: Your warriors are a boon to our cause, and the Reshii Ribbon is vital to it.

Location: Castigaar

Xal'atath: The more Soul-Scribe protests that K'aresh is gone, the more I am convinced that communing with the Worldsoul once more is her heart's desire. I will use the promise of achieving what she thought impossible to ally her to our cause.

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: We would gladly war against the Shadowguard. But I cannot give up this Reshii Ribbon to someone I don't trust. Promises of revenge are easy. Trust is hard won among the Wastelanders.

Soul-Scribe: Our ways may have changed from when we were oracles, but we have done what we must to stay alive.

Narathe: Mother, allow them to prove themselves. If they succeed, we may have our revenge. If not, we kill them.

Soul-Scribe: Very well. Let's see what you are worth.

Xal'atath: I've planted the seed, yet Soul-Scribe still hesitates. Her daughter Narathe is more receptive. She might be able to give us the nudge that's needed to win the Wastelanders over. Daughters are useful. Go with Narathe. Win over their tribe. I will stay here and continue to work on Soul-Scribe's will.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Find a way to sway the Wastelanders.

  • 0/1 Speak to Narathe
  • 0/1 Talk to Xal'atath (Optional)
  • 0/1 Bring a stalker to Zabta

PROGRESS

Soul-Scribe: Why reveal your secrets, Harbinger? If you are here for the ribbon, you could just take it.

Xal'atath: Revenge. I want to help you get yours.

STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN

Soul-Scribe: The Tabiqa ritual is for communing with the Worldsoul. K'aresh is dead!

Xal'atath: The Ravel's heresy halted the Devouring. Dimensius did not finish his meal. The brokers want you to think it is their technomancy that makes the eco-domes bloom. You and I know the truth. There can be no life without K'aresh.

Soul-Scribe: I have tried for ages. There has been nothing but silence.

Xal'atath: You could commune with K'aresh again! Show your people you are still strong. Then I will put that accursed ribbon to righteous use.

Narathe: We could be oracles again.

Soul-Scribe: If K'aresh is silent, I will find my own revenge.

PROGRESS

Narathe: You're good at killing. But we need more than that in an ally.

Narathe: Soul-Scribe was once our high priestess, but like most of us, her heart shattered along with K'aresh during its destruction. Many ages have passed since the sundering of our world, and we as a people have strayed from our calling. We are oath-bound to protect K'aresh, but wary of outsiders.

(Quest: How can we gain Soul-Scribe's trust?)

Narathe: Let me show you the life of a Wastelander, stranger. Existence is a daily struggle on the bones of our world. My mother's strength has inspired us to survive at any cost. We've needed to adapt as conditions change. The Void takes many of our stalkers. We need to replace such faithful hunting companions. Go into the dunes, then subdue and retrieve one of the escaped stalkers. You will prove your strength, and my mother may see that you are determined to help. Bring the stalker to Zabta at the southwestern edge of the camp.

1/1 Bring a stalker to Zabta

Zabta: A fine specimen. She will do well on the hunt.

Soul-Scribe: The domes are a Ravel construct. They try to tame the Untamed. Merciless K'aresh is gone.

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: I will do what my oaths dictate, but I am not convinced that your plan is the way to go.

Soul-Scribe: Word has filtered up through my camp about what you have done for us. My daughter has always been too trusting, but your efforts do not go unnoticed.

Narathe: My people need energy to live. We can harvest it from the pylons that were set out to collect it or hunt the energy scavengers that have siphoned off what is ours. Let's gather today's meager bounty of energy and then distribute it to my people. If we are to go to war together, it will help us both to know the character of your allies.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Collect and distribute harvested energy in and around the Wastelander Camp.

  • 0/4 Energy collected
  • 0/4 Crates charged

PROGRESS

Narathe: I will follow you and observe. If you can forage as well as you can fight, you are of worth to us.

Narathe: Feel that? Pylon nearby.

Narathe: There is a pylon here.

Qaishaa: Who is Soul-Scribe talking to? That woman's voice has haunted me since the Devouring.

Narathe: The Harbinger is back. The All-Devouring rises again. Soul-Scribe reflects upon our oaths for guidance.

1/4 Crates charged

Farena: More of these domes appear. We should raze each of them to the ground! Make the Ravel pay for returning to the world they destroyed!

Narathe: We are no longer oath-bound to King Salhadaar. This stranger brings hope for K'aresh. Our vendetta can wait.

2/4 Crates charged

Lash'ir: The metal from that destroyed dome is strong. Uncorrupted by the Void. It will make fine blades.

Narathe: Good. We will need many blades for the Shadowguard, if the stranger and their companion speaks the truth. Or for that Ravel city if they lie.

3/4 Crates charged

Jayaan: Why does this Ravel collaborator remain tethered to their soul? Fulfill your oath and scavenge their bones.

Jayaan: Survival is all that matters out here in the wastes. That, and our oath to protect K'aresh. We will do anything to achieve that end.

(Who are you?)

Jayaan: I am the arms master, Jayaan. When I was an oracle, I specialized in interpreting the will of K'aresh based on nature. He was in the shape of the clouds, bird flight patterns, the way leaves would turn over before a large storm. I tended to the gardens, growing herbs and flowers we used in the Tabiqa ritual. Back when the voice of K'aresh would ring through us all. Now, I train our people in the ways of the blade.

(What is the Tabiqa ritual?)

Jayaan: The Tabiqa is... was a ritual which allowed us to commune with K'aresh and to reaffirm our oaths with him. After years of study and trials to attune your body and mind to his voice, an oracle was able to hear the song of our Worldsoul. I can almost remember his voice. I think it was deep, and powerful. He is gone now, though. So the ritual is no longer performed. Our oaths remain, however.

Narathe: This stranger brings word of K'aresh. Which oath binds you? Dead King Salhadaar's, or the Worldsoul's?

4/4 Crates charged

Narathe: Now you know of our harsh existance. Return to Soul-Scribe. She will decide your fate.

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: In the wastes of Merciless K'aresh, survival is all-important. We take what we need to ensure our future.

Xal'atath: Soul-Scribe would fight for us, even die for our cause. Yet she still denies us her Reshii Ribbon. She sees it as a tool of the Ravel, and her oaths are getting in the way of our mission. If she could feel the presence of the Worldsoul K'aresh once again, she would give anything to protect him -- even the ribbon. The Oasis is the Trust's eco-dome that has a stable biome. The perfect place to commune with a Worldsoul, if one still exists.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Meet Xal'atath at the Oasis eco-dome.

  • 0/1 Report to Om'rajula at the Oasis

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: We are close to winning them over, (Name). Walking beneath the trees of K'aresh once more will open their eyes and remind them of their oaths.

Soul-Scribe: Gather a raiding party, Narathe. We go to the Oasis to find communion... or plunder.

Location: The Oasis

Om'rajula: Absolutely not! The Wastelanders are thieves and murderers.

Soul-Scribe: If we had come to raid, your soul would already be untethered.

Farena: Narathe clings to the past. She's like that one grain of sand that's somewhere in your wrappings and you can't find it. She's always nagging about how things used to be. I gave up who I was thousands of years ago. The now is more important, when every day is a struggle.

(Who are you?) I am Farena, a smith and technician. It's on me to keep our weapons working, charged, and as deadly as possible. There's nothing I can't fix. Not that I'd fix anything of yours.

Xal'atath: The Wastelanders have not truly walked on K'aresh for untold millennium. Bringing them here will remind them of who they are, and what they are fighting for.

Om'rajula: The Wastelanders are thieves and murderers, but I remember what they were once. Even if they do not. Will you vouch for them?

  • (Quest: I will vouch for Soul-Scribe and her people.)
  • (Quest: I won't vouch for them, but I will watch them carefully.)
  • (Quest: Stand aside before they stop being as civil as they are.)
  • (Quest: Why aren't the Wastelanders allowed into the eco-domes?)

(Quest: Why aren't the Wastelanders allowed into the eco-domes?)

Om'rajula: They are scavengers and thieves. They would strip the domes of their resources! They live for today, without planning for tomorrow. The domes are our plans for the future of K'aresh, and we cannot allow them to plunder and destroy all our hard work.

Om'rajula: Fine. Report to Om'talad -- please? Just... The dome is delicate. Be careful what you touch, and step, or... float.

Narathe: We will do as our oaths dictate, broker.

Xal'atath: The dome is stable for now, but we must hurry. I sense the Void pressing against this reality more and more.

Narathe: I have not seen so many green growing things in ages. I admit, I have peered in through the shields of this dome countless times, but nothing could prepare me for what is here. My home, my world... Could it truly be restored? Perhaps the Tabiqa will be a first step toward healing.

Lash'ir: We have been struggling to survive, but they are thriving here within the dome. Is this sustainable? Could K'aresh really recover?

Xal'atath: These are the oracles of the Untamed. You will let them commune with K'aresh in your dome, or they will sack it as Wastelanders.

COMPLETION

Om'talad: This is most irregular. Ve'nari may have asked that we extend all courtesy to the Harbinger and her champion. But these Wastelander barbarians? I hope Ve'nari knows what she's doing.

Om'talad: Locus-Walker sent word ahead that you might be showing up here. Between his word and yours, I will trust that the Wastelanders are not here for plunder.

Soul-Scribe: The Tabiqa has not been attempted for thousands of years. It was clear that the Devouring War destroyed K'aresh. And yet, looking at this dome... they have recreated so much that I thought lost forever -- fresh water, clean air, even the zaranit flowers I thought extinct. Does the Harbinger speak the truth? No. I didn't break my oath and abandon the Worldsoul. K'aresh is gone.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Gather materials for the ritual.

PROGRESS

Soul-Scribe: I've heard the Song of K'aresh before. These plants... All this beauty of nature -- a pale shadow of K'aresh that was. If you think to trick me, I will use my Reshii Ribbon to destroy you.

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: Did you find the components for the Tabiqa ritual? Do they even still exist?

  • Zaranit Bud: "A zaranit flower bud from a plant carefully grown within the intact eco-dome of K'aresh."
  • Heartspring Water: "Water collected from the bubbling heart of K'aresh."

Soul-Scribe: To hold these blossoms in my hands again... I never thought I would see the day.

Xal'atath: This dome is a reasonable facsimile of K'aresh. We will find no better place for Soul-Scribe to hear the Worldsoul's song. And yet, as Dimensius grows in power, even the Oasis succumbs to the Void. I can feel the rifts tearing open. Their energies will disrupt this delicate ritual. Unfortunately they'll need to be closed so Soul-Scribe can be convinced.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Cleanse the eco-dome of invasive elements.

  • Dome cleansed: 0%

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: This should work, if K'aresh responds.

Xal'atath: There you go, my champion.

COMPLETION

Xal'atath: The Void creeps further and further into K'aresh every day. Dimensius's power grows ever stronger.

Xal'atath: We have a lot riding on this Tabiqa ritual going exactly to plan. Having to kill her to get her ribbon would be inconvenient.

Soul-Scribe: My followers long for the days when they were oracles. They yearn to hear the Song of K'aresh. I am a realist. The evil of the Ravel, of Dimensius -- they have destroyed the beauty that was our Worldsoul. But you have gathered the items for the Tabiqa. So I will attempt it. When I hear the void of K'aresh's absence, there will be consequences.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Help the Soul-Scribe with the ritual.

  • Meet Soul-Scribe by the water
  • 0/1 Petals and Pollen placed
  • 0/1 Vial of water placed
  • 0/1 Ritual Dagger placed

  • The K'aresh Trust Commendation: Awards 2000 reputation with the K'aresh Trust.
  • Valorstones x 15

PROGRESS

Soul-Scribe: Let us move down to the water and begin the Tabiqa.

Xal'atath: Lead the way... oracle.

Soul-Scribe: To stand once more under the trees of K'aresh, to be near her waters... is this something achievable, or just a mockery of what once was?

Soul-Scribe: Prepare for the ritual. Place the items on the table.

1/1 Vial of water placed

Soul-Scribe: We offer water from teh wellsprings deep within K'aresh.

1/1 Petals and Pollen placed

Soul-Scribe: We offer petals and pollen. Through the Exchange, we are reborn.

1/1 Ritual Dagger placed

Soul-Scribe: We offer a ritual dagger, whose meaning we would reclaim.

(Play movie - Let's start the ritual.)

CUTSCENE

Soul-Scribe: K'aresh is--

Soul-Scribe: K'aresh is--

Soul-Scribe: Gah! I sense nothing! You lied! There is no Worldsoul here!

Xal'atath: Eons of wandering have starved your once great power, oracle.

Soul-Scribe: (groans painfully.) Traitor! Oath-breaker!

Xal'atath: The Worldsoul is as weak as you are. You need more power to commune! (strained yell) Feast! Touch the fading heart of your world!

Soul-Scribe: K'aresh... (gasps) I heard... K'aresh.

Soul-Scribe: By my unbroken oaths, the oracles of the Wastes will be your army, Harbinger. We fight to restore K'aresh.

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: It has been too long, since we were this close to K'aresh. It is but an echo of what once was, but the memories that it brings back...

Soul-Scribe: It has been so long since I heard his voice. I cannot believe he was still here with us... all this time. You have given me true hope, (Name), and my honor and oath demand that I do whatever is in my power to save K'aresh. I will give you the Reshii Ribbons, and the Wastelanders will join your fight.

With your new Wastelander allies, you traveled to confront the Shadowguard in battle. You reunited with Alleria Windrunner and the Locus-Walker, as well as the void elves Alleria contacted to aid her. While you hope such a force can find victory, the lack of trust among your allies concerns everyone. You and your allies assault the Shadowguard forces, seeking to push through their lines to the manaforge entrance. You assaulted the Shadowguard’s umbral garrisons that funnel energy from K’aresh to the Void Lord Dimensius. Enraged, the Locus-Walker leads you into the garrisons to destroy the technomancy that allows the Shadowguard to convert an untethered soul of a defeated ethereal. You reached the final umbral garrison and confronted Nexus-Prince Azir, who restored Dimensius with his theft of Xal’atath’s Dark Heart. Upon his defeat, the Shadowguard’s true leader, Nexus-King Salhadaar, appears and calls in an ancient oath the Wastelanders made to him. Soul-Scribe and her followers become your enemies once more. With the defeat of the Shadowguard’s umbral garrisons, you have acquired enough Reshii Ribbons for Xal’atath to fulfill her promise to change you and your allies into energy and enter Manaforge Omega and defeat Dimensius the All-Devouring.

Soul-Scribe: By the Songs of K'aresh, I will join you to face the Shadowguard and Dimensius in battle. Let those that would prey on Untamed K'aresh fear his followers! My scouts have tracked your comrades setting a foothold in Shadowguard territory. They will need our assistance. K'aresh lives! Our cause is just! Our oaths are unbroken!

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Meet with Soul-Scribe in Shan'dorah on K'aresh.

PROGRESS

Soul-Scribe: I remember this feeling. The touch of K'aresh. I wish to carry out my oaths to him.

Xal'atath: We have another ribbon, and an army. All it took was the promise of better world.

Location: Shan'dorah

Narathe: The camp has been claimed by void elves. We've heard tales of their victories against the Shadowguard on softer worlds.

Adarus Duskblaze (Illidari): What, no bow? Make it quick, (Class). I have no time, and more importantly, no interest, in idle conversation.

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: I did not know there were this many void-touched from your world. How do they shield their souls from its madness?

Soul-Scribe: Narathe is right. We are fortunate that void elves have experience battling the Shadowguard. The wastes of K'aresh are merciless, and the battle to come will be as well. I hope they are prepared for a brutal fight. These will not be the scattered scouts they are used to fighting on Telogrus. You should ensure they are ready for the battle to come.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Check in with Alleria and the void elves at Shan'dorah on K'aresh.

  • Approach Alleria
  • 0/1 Speak with Alleria
  • 0/1 Listen to Alleria (Optional)
  • 0/1 Heal the Wounded Riftwalker

PROGRESS

Soul-Scribe: The Ravel sorcerer is here. Fortunately for him, my oaths do not demand his death specifically.

Lash'ir: So few allies. The numbers are against us. K'aresh brings his Testing upon me. I will find glory.

Alleria: I need the ren'dorei, Locus-Walker. I don't trust you any more than -- Xal'atath!

Xal'atath: Time to aim our weapons towards Dimensius instead of our allies, Alleria.

Alleria: I'm glad you've joined the fray, (Name). We have a difficult path ahead of us.

STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN

Alleria: The ren'dorei are gathered. They have fought the Shadowguard before.

Xal'atath: Perhaps your band of outcasts will finish the job this time?

Locus-Walker: What of your vendetta, Soul-Scribe? Should I prepare for your blade in my back?

Soul-Scribe: The Ravel will pay for their crimes in time.

Alleria: Not an ounce of trust between us. What hope do we have of victory?

Xal'atath: Such pessimism. Do you really think I would have thrown in my lot for a hopeless cause? Together we will destroy the All-Devouring. The only other choice is our own destruction. Trust? Trust is overrated. But we all want to survive, and isn't that enough?

Alleria: You're right. I have no trust for any of you. But for Azeroth to survive, you can trust the ren'dorei will defeat the All-Devouring.

(Quest: What do you need?)

The journey here from Telogrus was not without risk or complication. Some of our riftwalkers were severely injured as they traversed the space between worlds. But they were able to bring with them enough of a force to defeat the Shadowguard. Help Riftblade Maella with the wounded. I need to take the measure of our new allies.

Wounded Riftwalker: (The Riftwalker lays wounded in the sands. You may be able to assist.)

(Quest: Bandage the Riftwalker.)

Heal the Wounded Riftwalker: 1/1

The wounded Riftwalker gives you a grateful look for healing them.

Riftblade Maella: Alleria called for our aid against Dimensius. We will follow her to the end.

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: We have spent a long time preparing for this moment. I will not let it slip.

Soul-Scribe: These elves are more resilient than I thought. Perhaps our people have both been tempered by adversity?

Soul-Scribe: My people have fought across every inch of the ruins of our world. We gave our oath to King Salhadaar and he rewarded us by sending the Shadowguard to hunt us down. Salhadaar is long dead, but we knew the Shadowguardd would return. In the long years that followed, we secreted caches of weapons so we would always be able to raise a blade in defiance.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Collect 3 Weapons Caches from the nearby sands of the Shatter Gorge on K'aresh.

  • 0/3 Shadowguard Weapons

(Item: Wastes Scanner - this sends a yellow pulse toward the nearest Weapons Cache in a straight line.)

Shadowguard Weapon: "This scepter emits a dark energy that pulls upon your essence."

Shadowguard Weapon: "This blade is inscribed with the last known name of its owner: Betrayer."

Shadowguard Weapon: "The handle feels cold to touch as if it pulls from your life force."

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: These will do. They are still as sharp as ever. I will arm my people and your allies. For K'aresh, (Name).

Alleria: With or without Xal'atath, the Shadowguard have long been a thorn in my side. It would be wise to take out as many as we can on this rock. I still do not trust her, but we must focus on the enemy we can defeat right now. Do not relent, (Name). If you see any Shadowguard, cut them down. A battle against them today saves us a battle against them tomorrow.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Defeat Shadowguard in the sands of the Shatter Gorge surrounding Shan'dorah on K'aresh.

  • 0/6 Shadowguard Phaseblade
  • 0/6 Shadowguard Adept
  • 0/3 Shadowguard Voidtamer

PROGRESS

Alleria: The Shadowguard have begun their attack. This will be the first test of our untrusting coalition.

Soul-Scribe: My people have come to aid in this final battle against Dimensius. After all these years, we are finally prepared to die for our world if that's what it takes. Better still, we are prepared to live and keep fighting.

Soul-Scribe: The Shadowguard will not prevail this day. We fight so K'aresh may live.

Xal'atath: While you fought, we scouted the Shadowguard. They must have a Reshii Ribbon.

COMPLETION

Alleria: Well done, (Name). If the Shadowguard bled, I am certain the sands would be soaked. Many more lay before us on the path to victory. There will be time for celebrations yet.

Xal'atath: Very good, my champion. YOu are a swift and sharp blade of destruction. We will put all that power to use now. We will slaughter the Shadowguard that seek to raise Dimensius, and the machines created to feed his insatiable hunger. The Shadowguard must have a Reshii Ribbon among their spoils. As we destroy their garrisons, look for this final ribbon. It is our way forward to kill a Void Lord.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Stop the Shadowguard ethereals at Shadow Point: Darkmend in K'aresh.

  • Approach Xal'atath at Shadow Point: Darkmend
  • 0/4 Forgecaster Wraps
  • 0/4 Unwieldy Energy disrupted
  • Follow Xal'atath past Shadow Point: Darkmend

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: With our new army, we will raze their garrisons until we take the Reshii for ourselves.

Xal'atath: Take their wraps! No new Shadowguard will be bound today!

Xal'atath: Yes! Glorious! Now destroy the garrison's machinery. You are destruction itself.

Dimensius: Soon...

Xal'atath: Hurry, my champion! We must push forward before the Void Lord awakens!

Soul-Scribe: Look what they are doing to my people! Their souls filled with the Void, oath-bound to the All-Devouring against their will.

COMPLETION

Xal'atath: A few more of these and we might even have a chance. Do not relent, (Name). You are capable of this and so much more.

Xal'atath: Two more to go. Two more places for the ribbon to be hidden.

Soul-Scribe: This is unthinkable. Heretical! The Shadowguard have captured my warriors and are converting them into new troops for Dimensius -- forcing an oath to serve the All-Devouring as the Void fills their being. Free them, (Name). We cannot let this last any longer. I will send Narathe to aid you in this fight. She knows how to untether the souls of oath-breakers.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Rescue Captured Wastelanders in Shadow Point on K'aresh.

  • 0/6 Trapped Wastelanders rescued

PROGRESS

Captured Wastelander: You have my thanks, outlander.

Captured Wastelander: I would sooner die than serve the void!

Captured Wastelander: That was close! A few seconds more and I would have fallen to their corruption.

Captured Wastelander: I could feel the Void calling to me...

Captured Wastelander: You have my thanks, outlander.

Narathe: We atone with our victories today!

COMPLETION

Soul-Scribe: How many were lost, do you think? I have a duty to my people. Let us finish this so none are forced to serve the All-Devouring again.

Locus-Walker: Turning into beings of energy was a choice we made when we had no other option. In the time since then, we have become reliant on consuming energy to survive. The Shadowguard are feeding that power to Dimensius. His hunger is infinite, and he will drain the energy from K'aresh to fuel his re-emergence. We must destroy this machinery that feeds him, (Name).

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Disable 6 Shadowguard Power Pylons in Shadow Point in K'aresh.

PROGRESS

Locus-Walker: A trained mind can withstand the Void. This manaforge untethers the soul, then binds it to Dimensius.

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: My people's technomancy could be put to great and beneficial use, yet time and time again we use it for great evil. As Dimensius's power grows, we are all diminished.

Alleria: I have fought Shadowguard on Eredath, Telogrus, and now on K'aresh. They are a thorn that should be plucked from the cosmos. That they should follow the very monster that threatened their world proves they are a scourge. Though, perhaps I am no better, fighting alongside Xal'atath. I will grapple with that contradiction later. For now, I intend for us to put an end to them, (Name).

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Kill Shadowguard in Shadow Point on K'aresh.

  • Shadowguard extinguished: 0%
  • Meet Alleria at Shadow Point: Torment on K'aresh

PROGRESS

Alleria: We need to destroy the Shadowguard or their army will overrun us.

Soul-Scribe: Call upon Narathe in battle if you need aid.

COMPLETION

Alleria: Is this the fate of the ren'dorei? Given long enough, will we too serve the very forces we fight today? I had always looked to Locus-Walker as an example we can emulate, but it appears the ren'dorei must find their own path.

Locus-Walker: We must continue disabling or destroying these buildings. I am loathe to destroy the technology of my people, but when used for such dire purpose, there is no choice! From here on out, hold nothing back. Let us raze the works of the Shadowguard.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Help Locus-Walker disable Shadow Point: Torment at Shadow Point on K'aresh.

  • Follow Locus-Walker
  • 0/4 Unstable Energy Matrix overloaded
  • 0/4 Shadowguard Energy Reserves destroyed

PROGRESS

Locus-Walker: Xal'atath is focused on destruction at all costs. However, I will not abandon my people to the Shadowguard's mercies!

Alleria: So you can still defy her after all.

Locus-Walker: Careful, (Name)! This garrison's conduits have been overloaded with void energy.

Unstable Energy Matrix overloaded: 4/4

Locus-Walker: This-- is raw power. Enough to overwhelm and remake untethered souls. It must be stopped.

Shadowguard Energy Reserves destroyed: 4/4

Dimensius: Devour!

Locus-Walker: As Dimensius grows in power, all fates bend toward destruction.

Narathe: That awful voice. A nightmare I had forgotten.

Soul-Scribe: The All-Devouring stirs. We must hurry!

COMPLETION

Locus-Walker: There is only more darkness ahead of us. Be prepared for anything.

Alleria: Now is the time, (Name). We must not hesitate. They will send their strongest to defend this last manaforge. We will find Nexus-Prince Azir there and we will end him before we take this battle to Dimensius. Xal'atath or no Xal'atath, we have what we need to do this. Just one final kill. Let us not dally. Make haste.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Defeat the leader of the Shadowguard in Shadow Point: Apotheosis on K'aresh.

(Nexus-Prince Azir stole the Dark Heart from Xal'atath and may still know where it is.)

  • Follow Alleria to Shadow Point: Apotheosis
  • 0/1 Nexus-Prince Azir slain
  • 0/1 Nexus-Prince Azir's Reshii Ribbon

PROGRESS

Alleria: Xal'atath surely means to betray us. Let us destroy the final garrison before she gets the chance.

Soul-Scribe: Our oaths will be shed in glory today.

Nexus-Prince Azir: By my hand Dimensius returns! The Dark Heart I stole from the Harbinger will revive the All-Devouring!

Nexus-Prince Azir slain: 1/1

(CUTSCENE PLAYS HERE: Blizzard Entertainment didn't spoil it in the PTR. Screen goes dark briefly but nothing played.)

Nexus-Prince Azir's Reshii Ribbon: 1/1

Alleria: I don't care about your oaths! You don't have to betray us!

Narathe: We have no choice! We will not die as oath-breakers!

Alleria sighs in frustration before releasing her attack.

Note: You slay Jayaan, Lash'ir, and Narathe.

Alleria: Take Azir's Reshii Ribbon, (Name). We have paid a steep price for it. There are so few left to fight Dimensius.

Alleria: Where were you, Xal'atath? What betrayal have you planned?

Xal'atath: The Wastelanders betrayed you. Our interests are still aligned, and victory is within our grasp.

COMPLETION

Alleria: Hmmmph. I grow tired of this lesson, (Name). Always when we get close to someone they betray us. They falter. They turn. They die. Always we put them in danger and we fail to protect them. Let no one else stand in our path. You and me, (Name). We will finish this.

Xal'atath: The possibilities have begun to narrow. We are on the cusp of victory. Are you ready, my champion, to fulfill your oath against Dimensius? (Xal'atath chuckles) Very well, I have some promises of my own to keep. Let us formalize our defense against Dimensius by the platform toward the manaforge.

QUEST OBJECTIVES

Speak to Xal'atath to assemble the Reshii Ribbons.

  • 0/1 Speak with Locus-Walker (Optional)
  • 0/1 Speak to Xal'atath
  • 0/1 Reshii Wraps

PROGRESS

Xal'atath: Come, (Name)! We have a Void Lord to kill.

Location: Shadow Point

Dimensius: Arise!

Xal'atath: We haven't much time. We must begin the ritual!

Locus-Walker: Getting our force here was just the beginning. We must still face the All-Devouring.

STAY AWHILE AND LISTEN

Locus-Walker: I must talk to you before we cross the threshold, Windrunner. When you behold the Void Lord you will understand. You will know why my actions were necessary.

Alleria: No, Locus-Walker. I won't. You became a monster to defeat Dimensius. You sacrificed your world, your loved ones... I would never do that!

Locus-Walker: There was no other way!

Alleria: That's what you keep telling me. We lied and manipulated our way to this victory, because that is how she does things! You think you've escaped the Void, that you are its master. But every dark whisper in my head confirms that you are lost. You are the Void's creature. No better than Xal'atath.

Locus-Walker: Windrunner...

Alleria: I will follow (Name) into that manaforge. For Azeroth! For K'aresh. For all the worlds unknown who we will spare this cruel fate. Then we are done. You are no longer my teacher, no longer my compatriot... No longer my friend.

Locus-Walker: Alleria...

Alleria: Lead on, (Name). Dimensius awaits.

Xal'atath: Here we are. On the precipice of victory. So many possibilities between here and there.

(Quest: You have promises to keep, Xal'atath.)

CUTSCENE

Xal'atath: It's time! Present your Reshii Ribbons. I will fulfill my word.

Alleria: I can't. It's madness to trust her with this power!

Locus-Walker: Dimensius is almost upon us! How many more worlds must be destroyed?

Xal'atath: Time grows short. Combine your ribbon, or... Use it to destroy me-- As it once destroyed K'aresh. Choose, Alleria!

Locus-Walker: Alleria... Please. (groans painfully)

Dimensius: Devour...

Alleria: Arrrrrrrgh!

(Alleria looks away and extends hand to relinquish her Reshii Ribbon to Xal'atath.)

COMPLETION

Alleria: What is Xal'atath's game here? She had ample opportunity to trick us.

Alleria: Stay vibilant my friend. Xal'atath's games have not yet unfolded. We must be prepared for her inevitable betrayal.

PTR message: This is the end of Chapter 4. The next quest will take you into the raid to kill Dimensius followed by the epilogue.

Alleria: Riftblade Maella: The Shadowguard have reinforced their position. We must disrupt their forces before they can launch an all-out assault!
