Diablo 30th Anniversary

Brent Gibson: What’s up, BlizzCon? I absolutely love seeing all of you together like this. I’ve been to every BlizzCon.
Tiffany Wat: My first few as a player. I’m sorry, Brent, but: “For the Alliance!”
Brent Gibson: You promised you weren’t going to hurt my feelings on stage. How about the Horde?
Tiffany Wat: Was there anyone else out there that has been to every BlizzCon? That’s right. It’s my family. Alright. Well, back then, I felt how much Blizzard’s worlds meant to people. Now that I helped build one of them, I feel it even more, and that is really special.
Brent Gibson: Yeah, I know exactly how you feel. When we were preparing for this, we had a lot of discussion about what 30 years looks like. And for me, it was about sneaking upstairs when I was 16 years old to install Diablo 1 on a computer that my mom brought home from school for the summer. And sorry, Mom. I didn’t uninstall it.
Tiffany Wat: Yea, well, I got the Diablo II Battle Chest for my 18th birthday and pretty soon, I was at LAN parties, doing Baal runs and hunting for Stone of Jordans.
Brent Gibson: And we weren’t alone. Together, it’s been 30 years of slaying demons, grinding for that perfect drop, and saying: “One. more. dungeon.” And I know all of you have crafted your own stories just like us.
Tiffany Wat: Since 1996, more than 130 million players have helped shape Diablo into what it is today. But anniversaries aren’t just about looking back. They’re a chance to get excited about what’s still ahead. And after Johanna’s announcement that the Diablo animated series is in development with Netflix, I’d say the future is off to a pretty great start. And we’ve got a lot more to show you today.
Brent Gibson: You know, one of my favorite things about working with this team is that they love a good surprise.
Tiffany Wat: Brent, what did you do?
Brent Gibson: I have no idea what you’re talking about. But like I said, we love a good surprise. We started the year off by shadow-dropping the Paladin at the Game Awards. And then we followed up by bringing the Warlock, one of the most metal classes, to Diablo IV, Diablo Immortal, and Diablo II: Resurrected. And in just a few days, Diablo IV begins its biggest anniversary moment yet, celebrating 30 years of darkness. Season of Hell’s Legacy launches Tuesday, September 15th.
Brent Gibson: This season, as the dead return from pandemonium, a familiar soul will find his way back to Sanctuary. Deckard Cain.
Tiffany Wat: Deckard leads you into waking nightmares where some of Diablo’s most unforgettable moments come back to haunt you. You return to places every Diablo player remembers: Tristram Cathedral, The Worldstone Chamber, and the Durance of Hate.
Brent Gibson: Yeah, and waiting inside are Baal, Mephisto, and the birthday boy himself: Diablo. You’ll face all three Prime Evils, reclaiming the fragments of their souls. And then you’re going to decide which evil you would want to embrace. And that choice will unlock new powers and will reshape the entire season around you.
Tiffany Wat: Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without some presents. You’ll collect legendary gear inspired by every era of Diablo, including the return of iconic treasures like the Stone of Jordan, and yes, I still get excited every time one drops.
Brent Gibson: For all of you here at BlizzCon, you can jump into a special season of Hell’s Legacy experience today on the show floor. You’re going to be battling your way through some of Diablo’s greatest moments with an old friend to take you along the way. And trust me, you’ll want to stay awhile and listen.

Brent Gibson: Yeah, I got to keep my dad’s status in check.

Brent Gibson: Welcome to the party, Joe.
Joe Shelly: Thank you.
Brent Gibson: So… what do you got there?
Joe Shelly: Well, since I’m sure nobody has heard anything about why I might be holding this, I’m excited to officially announce that the Diablo IV: Age of Hatred Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15th, 2026 alongside the season of Hell’s Legacy. And if you’re here at BlizzCon, you don’t have to wait. You can play the Nintendo Switch 2 demo on the show floor today.
Tiffany Wat: Alright. Also on the Diablo show floor this BlizzCon you can test your skills in Diablo Immortal Tournament. And we’ve got a special collaboration to talk about. Tomorrow, you’ll hear all about it from the creator of SPAWN himself, Todd McFarlane.
Brent Gibson: When I found out that Todd was gonna be here, the 13 year old me just freaked out, like really freaked out, and honestly, the 46 year old me is still freaking out today. Todd was my first taste of real dark fantasy. And he’s inspired an entire generation of storytellers. And tomorrow, you’ll hear from him directly at a live panel and drawing session where he’s going to give you a glimpse at what awaits when SPAWN comes to Diablo Immortal on September 29th.
Tiffany Wat: So Diablo has always been shaped by the heroes, villains, and stories that players remember most. Earlier this year, Diablo IV players finally set foot on the shores of the Skovos Isles. And almost immediately, one question started showing up everywhere. Where is the Amazon?
Brent Gibson: Yea, trust me. We were all asking the same thing. In Lord of Hatred, the vision for the Amazon really took shape. And we realized there was a huge opportunity we couldn’t pass up. So next year, one of Diablo’s most iconic warriors arrives in Diablo IV. So please welcome the Amazon.
Joe Shelly: After being in Skovos, getting to play the class that’s from there, that’s so cool.
Tiffany Wat: Can’t wait to play her. As someone who spent way too much time playing a Bowazon in Diablo II, this is a reveal I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.
Brent Gibson: Yes, this fearless fighter moves with speed, precision, and an absolute control over the battlefield. As the Amazon, you’re going to wield the bow, of course, but she’ll also be bringing an entirely new weapon to Diablo IV. The iconic Javelin. The Amazon class pack is going to arrive the first half of 2027.
