Season 3, Ep. 10: Revelations (Part 2)

1 — In the Sheriff’s Station, Boyd marks the location of the shack where Fatima was last seen on a makeshift map of the place. Kenny asks why Fatima was out there in the shack.

Ellis enters the Sheriff’s Station and tells Boyd he thinks Elgins knows where Fatima is.

2 — Fatima is on the ground thoughtful, but stands up and sits on the bed. She unbuttons her belly and it twists awkwardly as the baby moves within. Fatima screams in pain.

3 — Ellis says Elgin told him that Fatima was fine and this was all important. He was so calm about it. He said he shouldn’t be afraid. Ellis doesn’t know if Elgin snapped or if there is actually something here talking to him.

Boyd asks and Ellis responds Elgin is now at the Colony House. Boyd asks Kenny and Ellis to go there and make sure he doesn’t leave.

4 — Jim and Ethan return from searching the woods. Ethan asks if he thinks Fatima was found yet. Victor exits their house (formerly Kenny’s). Ethan asks Victor why he is there. Victor responds Tabitha fell down. Jim runs inside the house.

Tabitha says she is okay.

Outside, Victor tells Ethan that he saw the Boy in White. Ethan asks what did he say. Victor replied he wasn’t very helpful. Julie exits the house and asks Ethan to come with her to the Diner. He doesn’t want to. Julie says their parents need to talk and need the privacy. Victor rejects the invitation and leaves.

5 — Tabitha tells Jim the little girl spirit led them to the root cellar. Victor was there, upset. He remembered something about his mother the night she left. When Tabitha hugged Victor, she felt like Miranda was there. Jim asked how. Tabitha doesn’t know how to explain it but she could feel Miranda in that room. Then she took her back to the night Miranda went to the Bottle Tree.

Jim asks if she had like a vision. Tabitha says it was more than a vision. Miranda was trying to tell her something.

6 — Jade continues to study the slips of paper with numbers from the Bottle Tree at the Bar. The door opens behind him and he announces the Bar is closed.

Jim says he might want to hear this. Jade says he’s heard enough and brushes him off.

Jim apologizes for the way he addressed Jade yesterday. Jim is scared. Things are happening in his family and he doesn’t know how to protect them. But Jim thinks that Jade might know how.

7 — Boyd enters the church and tells Sara he figured out he would find her there. Boyd needs Sara to come to the Colony House.

Both walk the road toward the Colony House. Boyd tells her that Elgin has been acting strange lately. From what Ellis tells him, Elgin has been under a lot of stress. Elgin and Tillie were close. Tillie’s death might have just affected him. Boyd doesn’t know.

Elgin told Ellis that Fatima and the baby are the reason everyone will get to go home. Does that sound familiar? — Boyd asks.

Boyd needs Sara to talk to Elgin. To make him understand that if he is really talking to something here, its intentions aren’t good. Sara of all people understands that.

Donna exits the Colony House distressed and asks Boyd what the hell is going on. Ellis and Kenny are saying Elgin can’t leave the house.

Boyd asks how many people are still inside the house. Donna says a few. Most are searching for Fatima in the woods.

Boyd tells Donna he needs her to clear the house.

8 — Tabitha tells Jade and Jim that when Miranda got to the Bottle Tree, one of the monsters came from the woods and it smiled and watched Miranda die.

Jim asks Jade that he has had visions too. Jade responds not like Tabitha’s. Jade explains the type of visions he experiences are more like he sees things that shouldn’t be there.

Like the day he saw the Civil War soldier. It is not like he was back in the Civil War. This is different.

Jade says Tabitha mentioned it felt like Miranda was trying to tell her something.

Jade says that the first law of thermodynamics is that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only change from one form to another. Our thoughts, our memories, our souls, they are made of energy. Maybe in this place, that energy lingers.

Jade says that creepy girl led Tabitha to the Root Cellar. Whatever it was Miranda showed Tabitha, those children wanted Tabitha to see what Miranda showed her. Where was Tabitha when the little girl came to her.

Tabitha says they were at the canned-goods truck in the woods.

9 — Elgin leaves his bedroom with a bag. He finds Kenny and Ellis standing next to his door. He tries to walk down the stairs normally, but Boyd, Donna, and Sara bar his path forward.

Boyd asks Elgin if they can talk for a minute. They escort him to Donna’s room. Boyd asks Elgin to take a seat.

Boyd asks Kenny to go outside and watch the door for him.

Boyd opens Elgin’s backpack on the bed and says he’s packed a lot of supplies for at least two days. Where is Elgin going, Boyd asks. Elgin starts talking then trails off and stammers. Boyd says: “Yeah.” As if he caught him dead to rights.

Boyd says: “I’m going to ask you something and I want you to tell me the truth. Do you know where Fatima is?”

Elgin responds: “She told me not to say anything. I just…” (he means the mummified woman in the kimono suit.

Elgin continues: “I know how much you all care about her. I wanted to help. I don’t want to hurt anybody. But you have to understand, what is happening is a good thing.”

Donna asks who is the “she” that told him not to say anything. Elgin says he thinks she is an angel. She is here to help.

Elgin says there is something happened in this place that is beyond their ability to understand, like in the Bible. People didn’t really understand back then. But they had faith. Fatima’s baby is going to save everyone.

Boyd tells Elgin there is no baby.

Elgin says that is not true.

Boyd says Kristi and Marielle did an ultrasound in the clinic. There is no baby. Whatever is growing inside Fatima, it is not a child.

Elgin says Boyd doesn’t understand. The angel explained all that to him.

Sara says to Elgin that the day they met in the church, she told him that she killed her brother Nathan. “Do you know why that happened? There were voices here that told me if I killed a little boy, we would all get to go home. This place doesn’t give. It takes.”

Elgin asks if they can see how it is different. No one is dying here. Fatima is going to be fine.

Ellis yells angrily that he doesn’t know that.

Elgin says once the baby is born, everyone goes home.

Donna says that even if Fatima is pregnant, the birth is still months away.

Elgin says the baby has grown. They should see Fatima’s belly.

Ellis loses it and grabs Elgin’s jacket with force and pushes him back: “Where the fuck is she? I’ll fucking kill you!”

Kenny enters the room after all the shouting.

Elgin says he can’t say where she is.

Boyd commands everyone to leave the room right now. Everyone obeys.

Ellis yells he knows where Fatima is and he can’t let him just sit there.

Boyd says he needs to calm down. They need Elgin to tell them everything. Donna says that thing Elgin said about the baby, how big Fatima’s belly has gotten. Does Boyd think that’s true? Boyd doesn’t know.

Sara says Elgin is not going to tell them where Fatima is. Sara knows how it is like to have this place in her head. If Elgin really believes the baby will save everyone, he is not going to reveal Fatima’s location.

Boyd asks Donna where she keeps the tools. Donna says the tools are kept in the shed.

Kenny freaks out. Boyd tells Kenny to mount guard at the door. No one comes out, no one goes in until he returns from the shed.

10 — Henry asks Victor if Jasper has said anything interesting so far. Victor responds it was just a doll. He was right. Dolls don’t talk.

Henry apologizes he hasn’t been much help. From now on– (Victor interrupts).

Victor says he needs to show him something. It is gonna make him angry and make him hate him. Then we will be done. Henry asks done with what?

11 — Boyd enters the shed and puts some tools inside a bag. Father Khatri asks Boyd if he is really going to do this. Boyd says he got no time for him today.

Khatri asks if he will use the saw or the hammer first. No, he should go old school and get some pliers and rip his fingernails right off.

Boyd responds if that is what it takes. Khatri asks him if he can’t see the irony. When Fatima killed Tillie, Boyd didn’t even blink. He did everything he could to protect Fatima. He took Fatima to the shed, lied to the people he claims to care about, Kenny doesn’t even know yet what Fatima did.

Boyd responds what happened wasn’t Fatima’s fault.

Khatri asks how that’s any different with Elgin. This place got inside his head, made him think he was doing something good. Convinced him he was actually protecting Fatima. Now Boyd is here ready to go medieval on him. “Bit of a double standard, don’t you think?”

Boyd says it is different. There is nothing he could do about Tillie. She is dead. In this case, he can save Fatima.

Khatri tells Boyd he said this place wasn’t going to break him. If he tortures Elgin, then this place won. Boyd responds if he doesn’t torture Elgin, his daughter-in-law dies.

Khatri tells Boyd he needs to figure out who he is right now because that’s who he’s gonna be from now on.

Khatri disappears and Boyd meditates. Then resumes filling the bag with tools.

12 — Fatima hits the door with her palms multiple times screaming for someone to open the door. Fatima grabs the jar with Elgin’s blood and slams it against the wall, shattering it. Blood dripping down the wall.

She sees the jar fragments on the table and picks the largest fragment on her right hand. She leans on the wall to weigh the options before her.

13 — Jade, Jim, and Tabitha walk through the woods to reach the canned-goods truck where she saw the creepy girl.

Jade says: “I thought maybe there was a reason the children came out to you here. The only thing tying together all the crazy they have seen (Miranda, Jade, Tabitha) — the one point of overlap in all our Venn diagrams of crazy — is the children.”

Jim asks Jade if he has also seen the children. Jade responds he saw the children in the tunnels. They were laying on these slabs of rock repeating the words: “Anghkooey.”

Jade looked up and there was this hole in the ceiling and there was this mass of roots, this tangle forming the fucking symbol.

Tabitha says those are the roots of the Bottle Tree. Victor said the Boy in White told him that when the children were on the stones, they poured their hopes into the roots that made the symbol, and then those roots became the Bottle Tree.

Jade said the children made a magic tree and the symbol that has been plaguing him this whole time [laughs maniacally]… “You could have just fucking told me! You didn’t have to–“

Jim interrupts his grandiose monologue.

Jade snaps at Jim: “No. I’m sick and tired of getting dicked around! If you really want our help, if there is something you need us to understand, you are gonna have to do a little better, because we are not getting it! You hear me? Message is not fucking received! So, we are going to sit here, and we are gonna wait. And when you decide that you have something more to say than fucking Ahngkooey, you know where to find us!”

Jim asks Jade if he feels better now venting all that out into the woods.

14 — Randall does a few elevated push-ups. Cicada’s buzzing noises continue to torment him. The noise intensifies and overwhelms him.

Randall lands on the ground and rips the bandages from his face. The chirping is driving him insane with an unbearable headache. Randall walks toward the ambulance.

Marielle massages Kristi to stimulate the leg injured by the bear trap. Their dialogue is interrupted by Randall’s noises as he searches through the clinic. Kristi asks what he is looking for. He asks where the new stuff from the ambulance is stored. She responds those are in the cabinet. Randall specifies he means the equipment. Marielle says there is a supply closet downstairs. Randall storms out to the basement.

Marielle is curious and follows him to figure out what’s going on. Randall opens the closet and opens the largest medical kit bag on the floor. He removes the Defibrillator machine and places it on the bed. Then flipped the switch and undocked the lateral pads. Beeping is heard as the machine charges the pads.

The cicada’s chirping noises intensify more and Randall grunts in pain. The Defibrillator reached maximum charge and he placed one of the pads on the side of his head. Marielle runs from the door to push Randall and prevent him from placing the second pad on his head. Then press the cancel button on the monitor screen.

Marielle asks Randall to look at her. He is going to be okay. She hugs him.

15 — Boyd enters the Colony House with the bag of tools from the shed. Donna, Ellis, and Sara stare at him. Boyd tells them no one comes upstairs. He says what happens next, that’s on him.

Kenny is guarding Donna’s bedroom. Boyd tells him to go downstairs now. Kenny says they should talk to Elgin again. He is a good kid and there is gotta be a way to make him understand this.

Boyd says Fatima is out there and might be running out of time. Go downstairs.

Boyd enters Donna’s bedroom and slams the door behind him. Elgin says he can’t tell Boyd where Fatima is. Boyd replies he understands. Elgin needs to do what he needs to do. Boyd will do what he needs to do. Boyd drops the bag with tools to the ground making a very loud thud noise.

Boyd places a small table in front of Elgin and drops the bag of tools loudly on top of the table. Boyd removes a hammer from the bag and hits the table a couple of times for testing. The Polaroid camera shutter clicks on its own and whirs. A photo comes out of the camera.

Elgis says that is how the angel sends her messages. He thinks the angel wants to talk to Boyd. Boyd picks up the photo with an incredulous look on his face and looks back at Elgin and back to the photo.

16 — Victor leads Henry uphill in the forest to high ground and shows him a formation of rocks with crayon paintings on them. He says he tried to make them pretty, the way she would have liked it. “This is where I buried Mom. I thought you would want to see.”

Henry asks if the second rock is Eloise. Victor says he thinks so. All he found were pieces. She was so small. There wasn’t much left by the monsters. Victor says it was his own fault.

Henry asks what? Victor says he thought Jasper told Christopher the secrets. It wasn’t Jasper. It was the Boy in White. He told Christopher about the children and the tree. But Victor was the one who told his Mom. Victor told Miranda that the Bottle Tree would take her to the children. Victor is the cause that his Mom left that night. The reason his Mom died.

If he hadn’t said anything, his Mom and Eloise would be alive.

Henry says no. It was not his fault. Victor was a little boy.

Victor says he should have died that night too.

Henry says no. Victor responds his Dad should pretend that he did. “You don’t have to be my Dad anymore.”

Henry responds: “You don’t ever say that again! Do you hear me? I’m your Dad. I will never stop being your Dad. Your mother did what she did because she loved you. She was trying to protect you. That’s my job now.

17 — Jade says if the children made the Bottle Tree, then those messages in the bottles, the numbers, they have to matter.

Jim asks how they know that the numbers mean anything? We don’t even know who put them there. Think of everyone who might have lived in this place over the years. We could be chasing someone’s random delusion.

Tabitha says Miranda knew those bottles were important. Why else would she have a replica in her backyard?

Jim recaps: There are 10 numbers. Two of them are backward: The 2s and the 7s. Jade confirms. Jim says that means there are 12 numbers, not 10.

Jade says he has tried every mathematical, astronomical, astrological Babylonian 12-point numerical cipher he can imagine. The Zodiac, months of the year, fucking eggs in a carton. Jade bent over backward twisting it into some version of the Fibonacci sequence. There is nothing there. Believe me.

Jim says: “Aren’t there 12 notes on a scale?”

Jade asks: “What’d you say?”

Jim responds: “Music. My mom was a piano teacher. She used to say that music is the universal language. There are 12 notes in the scale. A through G with the flats and the sharp.”

Jade walks to Jim and grabs his face: “Tea Cup, you are a fucking genius. I love you. We need to go to the Bar. You need to go to your house. Victor’s mother had a violin. He hid it somewhere in your basement. Just meet us at the Bar.”

18 — Marielle asks Kristi how Randall is doing. She gave her something to sleep. Marielle asks what they will do when he wakes up. He had the paddle on his head.

Kristi says she has tried to be respectful and tried to give Marielle space. But she really needs Marielle to talk to her right now. Random just tried to lobotomize himself. Julie is a mess, and Marielle is acting like everything is fine. “I don’t know what the three of you went through, but I just need you to tell me if you are okay.”

Marielle answers: “No. And I don’t think any of us are gonna be.”

19 — Elgin asks Boyd what was in the picture. Boyd replies that’s what you wanna know, huh?

Boyd wraps a cable around Elgin to prevent him from moving or escaping the upcoming torture session.

Boyd says: “It was a picture of my house that I bought with my wife when I retired, the one that we were going to when I ran into that fucking tree. The only thing missing was the boat.”

Elgin asks if Boyd knows what it means. The angel is trying to show Boyd that they are all going home. All he needs to do is wait. Elgin tries to reason with Boyd. He would never hurt Fatima. Everything he is doing is for Fatima. All he needs to do is wait a little more time.

Boyd lines up the tools he will use to torture Elgin into telling Fatima’s location.

Boyd yells they don’t have any fucking time. “You took my family. You took someone I love, and you put her in danger. I’m sorry for what happened to you. But we’re not gonna wait. We are not gonna talk. You are gonna tell me where Fatima is, or I am going to hurt you. And I am not going to stop hurting you until you tell me what I need to know. Tell me you understand.”

Father Khatri shows up before Boyd silently. Boyd asks Elgin where is Fatima. “It’s your last chance,” Elgin repeats he can’t.

Boyd smashes his hand with the hammer. Elgin screams in agony.

Officer Acosta enters the house. She asks if there is any news on Fatima.

Boyd hammers Elgin again and he screams.

Acosta asks what was that. She storms upstairs and stops Boyd.

Boyd asks Acosta to turn around and leave. Kenny grabs her hand but she threatens him not to touch her. Boyd says she doesn’t understand what’s going on here. Acosta challenges him to explain it to her. Boyd orders everyone to come downstairs.

20 — At the Bar, Jade arranges the slips of paper with numbers on the table. Tabitha asks how they know what order the numbers go in. Jade responds they treat the numbers like any composition. “We try to figure out what is a chord and what is a melody.”

2-inverted, 9, 7, 5. (2975)

The 2 is backwards. That would be a G instead of a B. Followed by F sharp, D, E. Or G, F, D, E ♪

2, 8, 3, 3. Another G, D, C, C ♪

Tabitha asks what is wrong? Jade starts humming as if he knew the melody.

Jim enters the Bar with the violin and asks Jade what he is humming. Jade says he’s never heard the melody but can see it in his mind with the numbers. He saw the numbers and he could hear the music.

Jim asks him to stop. He is not sure this is a good idea. Jade asks what is he talking about. Jim cracked the code.

Jim replies: “Yeah, and the music just magically popped into your head. Doesn’t that strike you as odd?”

Jade says everything in this place is odd. Jim says: “And this place is trying to manipulate us, to hurt us.”

Jade asks how playing a song gonna hurt them. Jim reminds him what Boyd said about the haunted music box and how it nearly killed everyone or the jukeboxes in the Diner that just magically turn on by themselves?

Jade asks what Jim suggests they do. Ignore the song and forget about it?

Tabitha suggests they should play the song elsewhere, not in town, just to be safe.

Jade is not sure if playing the song in the woods would do any good. “I mean, what’s the blast radius of an evil song?”

Tabitha says the message was left in the tree. Maybe they should play the song by the tree.

21 — In the secret room of the Root Cellar, Fatima uses a large fragment of glass to cut into her belly, attempting to kill the baby. The mummified woman stops her. She says the baby is coming. Amniotic fluid starts dripping to the ground from Fatima.

22 — In the Diner, Ethan asks what if they forget what Tian-Chen was like? He doesn’t want to forget her. Julie asks why would he think that. Ethan is starting to forget what baby Thomas was like.

Both sit silently for a while.

Julie says she must tell something to Ethan. “When we went to those ruins, when I walked inside, I didn’t just have a dream. I think I went somewhere.”

Ethan asks what she means.

“When we went to the ruins, suddenly I was in a chamber. And I saw me, Randall, and Marielle chained to the wall. We were screaming. I think that is where we were when we couldn’t wake up. But then I left the chamber, and I went into the tunnels. I heard Mom’s voice. And she was talking to Victor. Remember how she said that Victor was the one who helped find her way out of the tunnels that night when the house fell down? I think that’s what I heard. But I think I was actually there, like somehow I went back to that night.”

Ethan responds: “You are a Storywalker.”

Julie doesn’t understand the term. Ethan: “Someone who can visit chapters of the story that already happened.”

Julie says: “So, I go back to those ruins, do you think I could do it again? If this is real, that means I can change things. I can save Tian-Chen. Maybe I could even save Thomas.”

Ethan says: “It doesn’t work like that. You can visit the chapters. But you can’t change them. No one can change a story once it’s been told.”

23 — Boyd explains it is not like it looks like. Acosta says he was torturing that kid. Ellis responds Elgin knows where Fatima is. Acosta says she understands they want to know where she is, but there is a right and a wrong way to do this.

Boyd asks: “You got all the answers. Tell me the right way to do this!”

In their argument, they don’t notice Sara sneaking out of the kitchen and heading upstairs into Donna’s bedroom.

Elgin tells Sara: “I’d tell you if I could, but I can’t.” Sara says it is okay. She understands. That first day when Sara saw Elgin in the church, her heart broke for Elgin. She thought he seems so sweet and kind. She used to be that way too. Sara thinks that’s the type of people this place looks for. People who just wants to help.

Sara deviates her eyes from Elgin and to the ground and sees the screwdriver.

Elgin asks Sara to tell Boyd to stop the torture because he will listen to her. If they wait a little longer–

Sara completes the sentence: Then Fatima could die. She knows he thinks that he is saving everyone. Elgin pleads.

Sara stands up and grabs the screwdriver from the ground.

“Boyd doesn’t understand how far he needs to go to make you tell him. He is a good man. And this place has taken so much from him. I won’t let it take his soul. I have already given it mine.”

Boyd yells at Acosta. “This is not Camden, Maine. I’m not debating this with you. You got a problem with that? Take it up with me after Fatima is safe!”

Elgin screams loudly.

Everyone in the kitchen runs to find out what is going on.

Sara holds the bloodied screwdriver in her right hand as if it were a knife.

Boyd asks what she’s done.

Elgin leans awkwardly on the chair. His left eye socket is bleeding and his eye is missing.

Sara responds: “Fatima is in the Root Cellar.”

24 — Jade, Tabitha, and Jim stand by the Bottle Tree. Jade begins to play the musical notes deciphered from the slips of paper with numbers they collected from the World Tree. The violin plays the seven different sets of notes.

25 — Ellis, Boyd, and Kenny run the woods and reach the Root Cellar.

The mummified woman in the kimono suit tends to the baby’s birth.

The door on the ground seems to open slowly on its own.

<It is difficult to understand if the door is opening by itself by the mummified woman's will, or if the song Jade is playing at the Bottle Tree is triggering the door to unlock itself. Earlier, Fatima tried to open it and it wouldn't open. This detail is open to interpretation.>

Ellis, Kenny, and Boyd inspect the Root Cellar.

They can hear Fatima’s screams. Ellis opens the door and finds the cabinet closet, but they don’t see Fatima.

Fatima gives birth and the Mummified Woman grabs the baby which is wrapped in the placenta, then retreats with the prize down the staircase beneath the door on the ground.

Ellis, Kenny, and Boyd push the cabinet closet out of the way and find the door behind it. The door opens and they see Fatima on a bed. She tells them the woman took the baby down there and pointed to the door on the ground.

Boyd asks Ellis and Kenny to take Fatima back to the Colony House. He will go down the stairway and will catch up with them. Ellis pleads with him not to go, but Boyd tells him to take care of his wife. Boyd needs to see what the baby is. He won’t let this place blindside them again.

26 — Jade continues to play the seven different sets of notes on the violin. Tabitha sees the children approaching the Bottle Tree from different directions. Tabitha and Jade can see the children but Jim. Tabitha asks Jade to continue playing the violin.

27 — Boyd descends the stairway and reaches an underground chamber at the end of the tunnel.

28 — Fatima tells Ellis she saw the monsters and what they are. They sacrificed their children, because it promised them that they would live forever.

The monsters and the mummified woman stare at the placenta on the ground as it grows and grows.

From the beginning, Fatima said she was told in the hospital that she was sterile. The clues had been seeded along Season 3. Her rotten vegetable cravings. The ultrasound not showing a baby where one should be. The nefarious dream and the mummified woman that guided Elgin to feed Fatima his own blood.

That was no ordinary baby. This is the rebirth of the monster Boyd killed in Season 2.

29 — The freaky girl approaches Tabitha and knees before her. Jade completes the seven sets of notes on his violin. The girl says: “Anghkooey.”

This time, Tabitha and Jade understand what the word means.

Tabitha: “Remember.”

Jim asks what’s that.

Jade says: “Anghkooey. It means: “Remember.” We tried to save them because one of them..”

Tabitha repeats over and over… no, no, no. I can’t I can’t. I can’t.

Jim asks what just happened?

Jade says: “We used to sing them lullabies.

Jade is making no sense to Jim. So he goes after Tabitha for answers. She says she can’t tell him.

30 — Jim stops Tabitha, grabs her, and turns her around to face him.

Tabitha: “I know why I see those children. Why Jade can see them. It’s why there is more than one bracelet. I kept making them. Somewhere deep down, I remember.”

Jim says he doesn’t know what the fuck she is saying.

Tabitha: “It’s because we’ve been here before, me and Jade. The reason I felt what Miranda felt is because I was Miranda. And Jade — Jade was Christopher. We have come back over and over again because we failed the first time. Jade and I were here at the beginning. We tried to save those children and set them free… because one of them was ours. She was our daughter. It’s true. It’s true. I feel it. And I need some time, honey. Can you give me some time?”

Tabitha leaves into the woods.

Jim stays behind thoughtful. He walks through the woods toward the RV where everything started.

Jim remembers the words he said in the RV before they found the fallen tree on the road and the crows.

“Sometimes I remember what it was like when it wasn’t like this, what it was like before.”

31 — Jim reaches the RV to think about what just happened.

Jim is lost in thought and regret when he suddenly hears Julie’s voice shout: “Dad! Can you hear me?”

Jim shouts at Julie so she can locate him.

Julie turns around in the woods and sees Jim. She runs toward him and tells him: “Dad! Dad, you have to run! You need to get to town right now!”

Jim asks: “What’s happened to you?”

Julie: “You need to listen to me! It’s not safe! I don’t– I think this is when it happens! I need to change the story. Dad, please!”

Mysterious Man: “That was a hell of a song. That Jade sure can play.”

Jim asks Julie to get out of here and run.

Julie says he doesn’t understand. Jim pushes her away.

Mysterious Man: “This didn’t have to happen, you know. Knowledge comes with a cost.”

Jim asks the man to back up. The man approaches closer. Jim grabs a large branch and threatens to use it as a weapon.

The Man in the Yellow Suit grabs the branch and pulls Jim by the throat to slam him against the RV.

Julie tries to get the man off Jim, but he swats her like a bug deflecting her back a few yards to the ground.

Mysterious Man: ” I did try to warn you. Your wife shouldn’t have dug that hole, Jim.”

The Man in the Yellow Suit rips Jim’s throat causing a large gap hole. Jim bleeds to death.

Julie screams.

<This concludes Season 3. There is a lot to unpack in this last scene. If you didn't understand what happened at the end, buckle up.

First, we see Julie come out of the woods. This is not the Julie of Season 3. Drum rolls. This is Julie from Season 4. The devil is in the details.

Julie is wearing a light blue jeans pants and a dark shirt. But the last time we saw Julie at the Diner with Ethan, she was wearing a light colored shirt and dark pants. Compare the images.>
<The second clue that this Julie comes from Season 4 is that she knew Jim was at the RV. No one knew where Jim was because he headed straight to the RV from the Bottle Tree. The last to see him was Tabitha and she had left before she could know where Jim was headed.

If no one knew where Jim was, Julie wouldn't have come calling for her Dad. In addition, she would have come from the road, not from the woods. It is easy to find the RV because it literally is in a ditch next to the road. Instead, this Julie is lost in the woods trying to figure out or triangulate where the RV is coming from somewhere in the woods. Hence why she is calling for her Dad, to figure out what direction the RV is from the woods, not the road.>
<The third clue that this Julie comes from Season 4. The last time we saw Julie she was at the Diner with Ethan. Out of the blue, Julie is by the RV with a scratch on her face.>
<The fourth clue that this Julie comes from Season 4. Julie tells us herself that she is from the future. "I think this is WHEN it happens! I need to CHANGE THE STORY."

At the Diner, when Julie tells Ethan what happened at the Tower Ruins, Ethan told her that she is a Storywalker.

"Someone who can visit chapters of the story that already happened."

Julie says: "So, I go back to those ruins, do you think I could do it again? If this is real, that means I can change things. I can save Tian-Chen. Maybe I could even save Thomas."

Ethan says: "It doesn't work like that. You can visit the chapters. But you can't change them. No one can change a story once it's been told."

It is evident that in Season 4 or later, Julie will go to the Tower Ruins again to visit the chapter of the story where Jim is killed by the Man in the Yellow Suit at the RV. From her point of view, Jim was killed days or weeks ago. She is trying to change the chapter, as said in the conversation with Ethan at the Diner.>
<Now I will focus on the Man in the Yellow Suit.

From what he told Jim, it is evident that the Man is the voice Jim heard over the CB Radio.

Jim: "Mayday. Mayday. Can anyone out there hear me? This is an SOS call. We need help. Mayday.”

Man the Yellow Suit: "Whoa, whoa, slow down. Is this Jim Matthews? Your wife shouldn’t be digging that hole, Jim."

However, that is not the only time we saw the Man in Yellow Suit. You probably forgot about it, but Tabitha saw this guy in one of Miranda's paintings when Henry showed her the basement in Camden, Maine. Now we know that Miranda and Tabitha are the same person. So Miranda drew the Man in Yellow Suit not from a vision but from memory.
