Season 3, Ep. 9: Revelations (Part 1)
1 — Boyd and Ellis call for Fatima in the forest. Night is approaching and Boyd asks Ellis to resume the search in the morning. Ellis doesn’t want to stop searching. Boyd tries to change his mind but he is too stressed and his Parkinson’s disease kicks in. His right hand shakes in front of Ellis.
Ellis asks what happens to his hand. He says nothing. His leg fails and he almost falls to the ground. Ellis grabs him. He can not move his leg. Ellis holds his weight on his shoulders as support.
2 — Elgin opens the secret room in the Root Cellar and brings a large bag with supplies for Fatima. Fatima begs him to let her go. He says she is not a prisoner here. Elgin says staying in this room is for her own good and the baby’s.
Fatima says she saw that thing that has been speaking to Elgin. This baby is not good it made her kill Tillie. Elgin says that happened because the baby was scared. It was hungry and she wasn’t feeding it.
Fatima tries to pry the door open to escape, but Elgin holds her and sits her down. He says she needs to it. The sooner she eats, the stronger the baby will be. The sooner they go home. Elgin says the baby already helped them once. When he learned that Fatima was pregnant, that made him remember his dream, and that helped Boyd save the town.
Elgin opens the jar of blood and offers it to Fatima. Elgin says Fatima helped him so much, and he just wants to return the favor. If she drinks at least a little of the blood, the baby will be strong and fed. Fatima couldn’t reject it for long. A few tastes of the blood and she took the jar on her own hands to drink more.
3 — Victor tries to leave the church, but Tabitha stops him. She wants him to help them understand the memories he remembered. Victor says he doesn’t want to because all he did is make things worse. The memory reminded him that it was Victor’s fault that his mother went to the Faraway Tree to save the children. This is what killed his mother, and now he thinks he might cause Tabitha’s death.
Victor grows more agitated and angry. He doesn’t want to remember anymore. Victor heads for the door and Tabitha holds his left arm with hers. The contact causes Tabitha to feel a wave of thoughts that stuns her briefly.
Tabitha releases Victor and he leaves the church. She looks at her two open hands, disoriented by the experience. Sara looks at her trying to make sense of what she just witnessed. Sara asks Tabitha what had just happened when she touched Victor. Tabitha says she doesn’t know.
Kenny enters the church and asks Tabitha to go to the clinic. Something happened to Julie in the woods.
4 — Kristi checks Julie’s health. Uses her flashlight to inspect her pupils. In general, Kristi tells Jim and Ethan that she doesn’t see any trauma, which is good.
Kristi asks Julie to walk her through what exactly happened to her at the Tower Ruin.
Julie says there is not much to say. They walked into the Tower Ruin, then she blacked out.
Marielle asks if she remembers anything else. Julie said she just had a weird dream.
Kristi says she would want Julie to stay in the clinic for the night just to make sure she is all good. Jim allows it and agrees.
Kristi says they will give them privacy for now. Marielle assists Kristi in walking with the crutches.
Jim sits next to Julie and asks what were both of them doing out there at the Tower Ruins. Julie says it was stupid. She went to the Tower Ruins yesterday with Randall. Jim didn’t like to hear Randall was there.
Tabitha arrives all worried. Julie says she is all fine. Tabitha hugs her and holds the embrace as if she was a little girl. Jim leaves to give her time with Julie. Tabitha asks what happened. Julie says she just passed out a little.
5 — In his Clinic room, Randall extends a hand mirror to look at his face bandages. He pulls on them but starts to hear the chittering of a cicada and the noise drives him crazy.
Randall holds his head with both hands and stands up. The chittering intensifies and he is losing it, contorting his body in pain. He slaps a dish off the table and breaks it.
Jim knocks on the door. Randall’s pain and the chittering subsides. Randall asks if there is something he can do for him. Jim asks what were Randall and Julie doing out in the woods?
Randall asks back what did she say they were doing in the woods. Jim says he is asking Randall. He responds if this is his version of the big bad dad routine, he is not in the fucking mood.
Jim says after what happened to Randall, Marielle, and Julie, she won’t talk about it. Jim knows Julie is going through something that he can’t understand, but he figured that Randall might. Randall replies he was teaching Julie how to drive. Jim is confused.
Randall says Julie told him she didn’t get her learner’s permit, so they took the Colony House van. Randall freaked out about something and they ended up in the woods. Jim asks about the Tower Ruins. Randall starts to lose his cool. He has his own problems to deal with. If Jim wants to know more about their experience when they couldn’t wake up, he can’t help him explain it. About the ruins, he doesn’t know anything about them, but Randall told Julie not to go back to the ruins.
Jim asks why Randall told her not to return to the ruins. Randall says because the ruins just felt wrong. Jim asks how. Randall responds they simply did. That’s all he got for Jim.
Jim decides not to push it and leaves. As he is about to let the door close, Randall asks if he wants his advice. Jim turns his head back at Randall.
Randall tells Jim to take the van and teach Julie how to drive and be a Dad, because that’s all he can do about the rest. None of them are getting out of here alive.
Jim doesn’t accept that.
6 — Ellis stopped the search for Fatima to help Boyd walk back to the Sheriff’s Station. Ellis says Boyd needs to come with him to the clinic. Boyd repeats that he is fine. The Sun is going down, he needs to ring that bell. Boyd slowly walks toward the bell.
Ellis says he can barely walk. He is not fine. Whatever is going on with him– (Boyd interrupts).
Boyd says he knows what is going on with him. Boyd can’t find the words. Then he responds he is known for a while. Tells Ellis to sit down.
Ellis stammers looking back at the door as if he doesn’t have time to sit and listen. Boyd catches that and tells Ellis not to worry about Fatima. She took the talisman. She is safe. Boyd asks him to sit down. They need to talk
7 — Donna walks the living room at the Colony House, remembering the party celebrating the first anniversary of Fatima in the house: “One year today our dear sweet Fatima came into our lives. Some of you were here then. Many of you arrived since. But all of you have come to know her and to love her, for her kindness, for her strength, for her wisdom–“
A resident next to Donna adds: “– and for her weed.” Everyone laughs.
Donna: “The green thumb is definitely a big plus. Our greenhouse never smelled so good. Seriously, you’ve made this big old drafty box feel a little bit more like home. Happy anniversary, sweet pea.”
Donna stands in the same spot where she said those words with tears in her eyes and a sad face. Then exhales heavily.
<The anniversary party took place in Season 1, Ep. 7: All Good Things…>
8 — Nightfall arrives. In the clinic, Jim tells Tabitha that both Ethan and Julie are asleep. Tabitha says she could have stayed in the clinic with Julie. Ethan should have been at the house with Jim.
Jim jests: “And miss all the fun? Who doesn’t like a sleepover?” Jim takes a deep breath.
Jim says he hasn’t been doing a very good job as a Dad or a husband. He knows she is trying to make sense of this place. If there is a chance that it could lead them home, then he is in all the way. No more second-guessing, no more pushing back. Both come close together, forehead to forehead. Caressing each other’s hand.
Tabitha says there is something Julie is not telling them. Jim knows.
9 — In the Sheriff’s Station, Ellis asks Boyd how long he has known. Boyd responds it started to manifest before he went into the woods with Sara. Ellis asks who else knows. Boyd responds Kristi and Kenny know. He didn’t want to worry Ellis.
Ellis says he should have told him. Boyd says he is telling him now.
Ellis asks if his Parkinson’s disease tremors in his leg had happened before. Boyd says it’s the first time it happens in his leg. Ellis understands it is getting worse.
Boyd agrees and says there is something else he needs to tell Ellis.
When he was with Tian-Chen in the barn, the monsters made him watch her die. The whole thing, letting the animals run away from the barn, was a setup. They said they wanted to break Boyd. What if this thing with Fatima, with the baby — Ellis interrupts him.
Ellis says he shouldn’t blame himself for that. It doesn’t have anything to do with him. Boyd says Ellis doesn’t know that. They don’t know a fucking thing and now Tillie is dead. Fatima is out there somewhere, and he is just sitting there in the Sheriff’s station like a gimp.
Someone knocks on the glass. A female monster says: “You doing okay in there, Boyd?”
Boyd flinches and stands up: “What did you say? Huh?!”
Ellis tries to stop Boyd, who walks toward the window.
Ellis pulls Boyd away from the window.
10 — Sara almost glues all the pieces of his Christmas figurine. The one Nathan gifted her and Kenny shattered some time ago after she visited Tian-Chen to apologize for her husband’s death.
Sara places the figurine next to the lamp in her drawer. Suddenly, voices overwhelm her, and asks the voice to leave her alone.
11 — Morning arrives. Eljin approaches the Root Cellar. He looks around to make sure no one has seen him. Then he opens the door and enters the Root Cellar.
Fatima tries to break a metal piece from the bed frame to use as a weapon. Abdominal pain overwhelms her and stops her efforts. Suddenly, she hears Elgin moving the cabinet closet that hides the door into the secret room she is prisoner in.
Fatima resumes her efforts to detach the metal piece. She succeeds and hides it inside her sleeve.
Elgin opens the door and marvels at how big Fatima’s belly has grown over the past couple days.
Elgin: “Wow! I told you when you started to eat, things would go faster. They baby’s gonna be here in no time. You should probably put this on. Those aren’t going to fit you soon. I had to go to the main storage. I didn’t want to risk going into your room.”
Fatima asks if he can help her stand up. Fatima slashes his left hand with the metal piece and he recoils in pain.
Fatima runs and pushes the door open. Elgin stops her and closes the door behind them.
12 — Boyd argues with Ellis he shouldn’t go on his own blind through the woods searching for Fatima. Ellis asks if he has a better idea. Boyd suggests to ask everyone’s help to form a search party.
Ellis says Donna is about to tell the entire town that Fatima killed Tillies. People won’t be lining up to help when they hear about that.
Sara enters the Sheriff’s Station and apologizes for interrupting them. Sara asks if Fatima is okay.
Sara looks at both of them and realizes Fatima is missing. She asks again. Ellis asks what the fuck Sara knows about that. Ellis goes neandertal on Sara and Boyd steps on his way.
Boyd asks Sara to explain herself. Sara says the voices talked to her last night for the first time since the ruins. The voices say that Fatima didn’t leave on her own, that something took her. The voices want Ellis and Boyd to know that she is close by. She is afraid. They were laughing because they know Boyd won’t find her in time. The voices want Boyd to know that he can’t save her.
13 — Two residents walk along the Colony House transporting a cart and other stuff. Suddenly, a low crash noise startled them. They look back, then look up. Victor is throwing all his belongings out of the window carelessly and angrily. Clara enters Victor’s room and asks what’s going on. Victor says he kept all this stuff because he thought they could help. But all they do is hurt. He wants everything gone.
Kenny and Acosta walk upstairs and stand by Victor’s door. Victor angrily asks them to get out of his way. Acosta says not until he calms down. He yells back to get out of his way. They follow him to the kitchen where he grabs an axe from the closet. This freaks out the residents. Kenny asks him to put the axe down.
Victor says he won’t hurt anyone. Kenny asks him to put it down. Victor refuses. He needs it. Kenny says he is scaring people. He replies they should be scared. They aren’t scared enough. Victor says he was so stupid. So stupid. He slaps his own face twice. Acosta tells him they will let him go if they tell them what he needs it for.
Victor says he needs it to chop down a tree.
14 — The Matthews family enters the Diner. Bakta welcomes them. Jim says it is nice to see the place up and running again. Bakta says Ethan helped a lot with the cleaning and reorganizing. Anytime he wants to come and lend a hand, she always needs a helper.
Bakta tells Jim that Kenny was very supportive of reopening the DIner. He was sad to see the place empty all the time.
After what happened to Tillie, she thinks people need a place to feel normal.
15 — Donna looks at the photo with her sister. Boyd knocks on her door. He says she is upset but– Donna interrupts. Donna won’t say anything about Fatima killing Tillie, because of what Fatima means to people in the Colony House. Her spirit. Her light. Donna doesn’t think people could take the news. Donna doesn’t know she can take it.
Boyd says Fatima is gone. Fatima was in the shed outside of town. Ellis and Boyd went there last night and she was gone. The voices told Sara that something took her. That she is nearby but they won’t be able to save her before it is too late. Sara said the voices were laughing.
Donna asked Boyd to ring the bell. They will call a meeting to organize a search party.
16 — In the Diner, Tabitha asks Ethan if he doesn’t like his food. He says he misses Tian-Chen’s pancakes. Ethan goes to the bathroom. Julie tells her parents that Ethan believes it is his fault that Julie passed out at the Tower Ruins. Julie asked Ethan what she should do. His choice whether she entered the ruins or not.
She knows it was stupid, but that looked so much like one of those stories he always used to tell us. Julie says this family eating breakfast together doesn’t help. She knows what they are trying to do. It just makes it worse to pretend they are a happy family.
17 — Boyd and Donna are followed by people as he rings the bell along the street. Everyone in the Diner look out the window to find out what’s going on. Donna enters the Diner and asks everyone to come outside a minute.
Donna and Boyd tell the people they need to form a search party to find Fatima who has been missing since last night. A resident asks if the thing that killed Tillie also kidnapped Fatima. Donna says they don’t know.
Boyd says all they know is that Fatima is somewhere close by. A resident asks how he knows. Boyd says they know because something in this place told them. Something that wants them to know that she is alone and afraid. Something that thinks they don’t have what it takes to save her.
Boyd shows them a talisman and says that they didn’t always have these. When he first arrived at this place those things in the woods would come at night and they would kill whoever the fuck they wanted. We found the talisman and proved that this place couldn’t break us.
Now this place is trying to break us again. You can either lay down and die or we can say fuck you, we are taking our lives back! It is possible to fight back! We proved it once before and I am asking for your help to prove it again. It is your choice. There is no shame in backing out.
Bakta backs Boyd and asks how they can do this. Boyd says they are going to pair up and cover every inch of this place until they find Fatima. Let’s do it. Let’s go.
Julie wants to help in the search because Fatima is her friend. Ethan wants to as well. Jim decides he will pair up with Ethan. Tabitha takes Julie.
Boyd says there will be a lot of questions. Best if they are the ones to find Fatima. Ellis goes with Elgin. Boyd goes with Kenny.
18 — In the Root Cellar, Fatima struggles to walk with her big pregnant belly but she falls to the ground. In the fall, she uses her hand for support and makes a hollow thud sound against the ground. Fatima pushes the dirt away with her hand and discovers a cellar door knob.
Fatima continues to dig the dirt off the ground door with her hands but it is difficult. She looks around the room and uses an empty peaches can as a makeshift shovel to dig access to the door on the ground.
19 — Donna and Acosta search for Fatima in the woods. Acosta doesn’t understand why they are in the woods. What did Boyd even mean that something here said Fatima was close by? Donna says that part came from Sara.
Acosta mocks Boyd for believing the words of a murderer. Donna says Sara is connected to this place in ways that are hard to understand. Acosta asks why believe Sara at her word. She could be the one who killed Tillie and Fatima and then made up some bullshit.
Acosta senses Donna is hiding something from her and says she is a good cop who can be used as an asset to find Fatima. Donna says she knows what Sara said is true. Acosta refuses to believe and Donna says she wouldn’t understand. Acosta asks to help her understand. Donna says she doesn’t have time for a personal tutorial on how this place can fuck with her head. Bottomline, Fatima is out there and they need to find her because of what she means to the people of this town and what she means to Donna.
If Acosta wants to believe that she is good at her job, Donna needs her to trust her and help her. Donna tells Acosta when this search is over, they will talk. Acosta calms down and accepts.
20 — Boyd and Kenny search the woods for Fatima. Boyd says things between Kenny and him are never gonna be the same because he withheld the truth about Sara opening the clinic door leading to monsters killing Kenny’s Dad. Boyd knows there is a part of Kenny that will never forgive him.
To be in charge of this place comes with a whole mess of decisions that you don’t want to make. But people live and die here based on your ability to make those decisions.
Kenny asks what is it Boyd is doing here with this conversation. Boyd says his Parkinson’s is getting worse. Yesterday, his leg froze and he almost fell to the ground.
Boyd says it might not be today, tomorrow, or a month from now, but he got a clock ticking on him. Yesterday, that clock started to tick faster. Boyd needs to know that when he is gone, Kenny will step up and protect these people. It has to be Kenny wearing the badge and not a hothead like Acosta.
Boyd needs to know that his family is in good hands. Kenny says he won’t wear Boyd’s badge. But if he is still looking for a deputy, he will take that one back.
21 — Jade is placing bottles with numbers on the tree branches next to the Bar for some experiment. While on the ladder, he notices Christopher and Jasper the puppet sitting at the top of the porch’s roof. Instead of getting frightened, Jade laughs and asks what he wants.
Jade tells Christopher that he is used to seeing all these ghosts or visions in this place and it no longer bothers him. Can’t they be a little more creative, because these sudden apparitions aren’t doing it for him anymore. Meaning it is boring. Suddenly, the puppet moves its face and screams at Jade.
Jade is startled and loses his foot grip on the ladder almost falling. His hands prevent his fall.
Henry asks Jade if he is okay and who is he talking to. Jade angrily replies he was talking to nobody. Henry rephrases the question: “Who did you think you were talking to?” Jade ignores the question and says he is busy.
Henry asks if he did this new Bottle Tree in the back of the Bar. He confirms. Henry says his wife Miranda made one of these Bottle Trees in their backyard. Henry asks if he figured out what they mean or if he solved the numbers. Jade grows irritated: “Henry, is there something I can help you with?” That’s Jade-lingo for: “Stop bothering me, oxymoron.”
Henry tells Jade that most of the townsfolk are searching for the missing Fatima. They had a whole meeting about it. Henry wondered and that’s why he is here if Jade could pair up with him to go search for Fatima. On their way, they could maybe talk about Victor — Henry tells Jade.
This seems to interest Jade and he stops still, thoughtful.
22 — Victor walks through the forest with the axe on his left hand. Victor reaches the Bottle Tree — the one that teleported Miranda and Tabitha separately to the Lighthouse, and also killed Dale by teleporting him into the wall at the empty pool.
Victor swings the axe twice against the Bottle Tree. The Boy in White yells: “Stop! You can’t do that.”
Victor says it is a bad tree. It does bad things.
The Boy in White says the Bottle Tree is important.
Victor asks why is the Bottle Tree important. Why he wouldn’t help them.
The Boy in White answers: “Because I tried. With Christopher. I think you need to learn for yourselves. It is the only way you will understand.”
Victor says the Boy in White looks different now. All those years, he looked the same. “Why are you changing now?”
The Boy in White says that everything is changing now.
Victor asks if the change is bad. Because he doesn’t know what to do. Victor asks the Boy in White to tell him how to help the people. Please. He is supposed to be his friend.
The Boy in White replies: “I am your friend.”
Victor asks to please tell him what to do.
The Boy in White replies don’t cut that tree. Then turns around and leaves. Then disappears.
23 — Elgin tells Ellis when he was little a friend of his went missing. They had the whole neighborhood looking for him. Grandma told him not to worry, but he was so scared. Turned out that he was on a playground on the other side of town having the time of his life. Everyone was scared for nothing.
Ellis turns around annoyed and asks if this is what Elgin thinks is for Fatima. This is not about some fucking kid at a playground. Ellis lost his Mom in this place.
Elgin didn’t know this and asked Ellis. Ellis replies when his Mom died, the way she died, he can’t go through that again.
24 — Jim and Ethan approach the RV in the deep end of the road. Ethan asks if he thinks Fatima might be inside. Jim says best to check everywhere, including the RV. Besides, Jim thinks, this will be a good place to talk.
Ethan asks what happened to the RV’s windshield. Jim responds they had a bit of a close call not long ago.
Jim tells Ethan last time he was in the RV, he wasn’t in good shape with the table leg impaled through his leg. Jim can’t stop thinking it was his fault for not seeing the car on the road in time, causing the RV to turn sideways into the ditch on the side of the road. He thought they would lose Ethan the way they lost baby Thomas. Jim wouldn’t have forgiven himself if that happened.
Ethan says the accident wasn’t Jim’s fault. Jim asks why not. Ethan replies because Jim was scared and he did the best he could.
Jim asks if it is like when Ethan told Julie to go into those ruins. Ethan was doing the best he could, right? Ethan replies: “I guess.”
Jim kneels down to level with Ethan’s eyes and says that things happen in this place that they can’t control. This place wants them to blame themselves and to be scared. Ethan must remember that they are doing their best even when bad things happen and especially when bad things happen. What matters is how they face those things. Not the decisions they make or whose fault it was, but how they take care of each other. Jim tells Ethan: “I love you, buddy.”
Ethan replies: “I love you too, Dad.”
Jim suggests they continue searching for Fatima around the woods.
The CB Radio receives a static noise broadcast and suddenly a voice is heard: “Dad? Are you there? Please, don’t leave me alone here.”
Ethan asks Jim to resume searching for Fatima. “You were right, it’s not him.”
The CB Radio receives another broadcast from Thomas: “Where are you going?” — then it laughs sarcastically.
25 — Tabitha and Julie search inside the canned-goods truck but don’t find Fatima. Julie asks what is this place filled with a lot of things.
Tabitha responds that Victor comes here sometimes. She tells Julie this is where they spent the night when they came out of the tunnels.
Julie asks if this is how it is going to be from now on. People will just disappear one by one? Fatima was the first person that made her believe that this place might be okay.
Tabitha tells her they are going to find Fatima and to not worry. As Tabitha starts walking away from the truck, Julie says she doesn’t think she was dreaming when she passed out at the Tower Ruins. Tabitha turns around concerned.
Julie says: “When I blacked out in the ruins, it was almost like I went somewhere. One second I’m in this weird chamber and the three of us are there — me, Randall, and Marielle, and we are screaming. And then, there was this guy chained to a wall, and then I am in these tunnels, and I heard you talking to Victor. I tried to find you, but your voice, it just kepting getting further and further away. And then I heard those children. They were screaming that word.”
Tabitha says: “Anghkooey.”
All Julie kept thinking was “What if I never make it back? What if I’m lost and no one ever finds me? What if I’m alone now? I was just so scared.”
Tabitha holds Julie’s face and tells her she will never be alone in this place. They hug. Suddenly, Tabitha sees the freaky girl spirit yards away.
Julie asks what’s going on. Tabitha says one of the children is watching us. She wants them to follow her.
26 — Henry thinks he is dealing with a different Victor. Jade says it is because he is and asks why not talk to Tabitha about this stuff.
Henry says Tabitha has her own kids to worry about and not to take it the wrong way, but Jade reminds him of Victor. Jade asks why.
Henry responds his son is trying a block of wood to tell a story (in reference to the puppet). Jade is up on a ladder screaming at people who aren’t there. Jade says: “Okay, that’s fair.”
Henry asks Jade if his Dad was here and saw him in this condition, what would you want your Dad to say to you?
Jade says that for starters he would asks where the hell he has been his whole life, but Henry is trying to figure out how to fix Victor. “You can’t. Because Victor is not broken. He is the product of what this place made him. He’s been surviving here for decades. He’s been shaped by this place. He’s Tarzan, growing up in the jungle. And you are the guy who comes along and makes him feel like an asshole because he doesn’t know how to use a fork. It is not rocket science.” Jade pads Henry’s back.
Henry asks where Jade is going. Jade is heading back to the Bar. At least there he can pretend to be productive.
27 — Ellis shouts for Fatima at the Brundles pond. Elgin tells Ellis that Fatima brought him here once. Fatima was his proxy and has helped him a lot since he arrived in the town.
Ellis responds she has helped a lot of people. That’s what she does.
Elgin says he is so sorry to hear what happened to Ellis’s Mom (Abby). Elgin says he is not going to lose Fatima. She will be okay.
Ellis lashes out annoyed and asks Elgin to stop. He appreciates him helping to search for Fatima but he just can’t talk about this.
Elgin says he needs to tell Ellis something. When the passengers were on the bus on their way to this place, he had a dream.
Ellis remembers.
Elgin says that ever since something has been trying to talk to him. What if all of these is happening for a reason? What if Fatimas is out there doing something to help us? This might be a good thing. The baby and everything.
Ellis asks why this would have anything to do with the baby?
Elgin says maybe they don’t have all the information. Elgin doesn’t want him to be afraid. He thinks she is going to be okay.
Ellis looks at him thoughtful and suspicious. Then asks Elgin to come to keep searching for Fatima.
28 — Fatima finishes digging the surroundings of the hidden door on the ground and pulls the handle as hard as she can, unsuccessfully. She cries in frustration and then gasps in pain as her belly aches.
The mummified woman in a kimono suit shows up and Fatima screams.
29 — Tabitha and Julie follow the freaky girl spirit through the woods.
30 — In the Root Cellar, the mummified woman in a kimono suit lifts her finger above its lips and “shh” at Fatima who is asking what she wants from her.
The woman ghost gags Fatima’s mouth and forces her to lie on the bed.
31 — The freaky girl spirit leads Tabitha and Julie to the Root Cellar. Its outer door is open. Julie says that is the Root Cellar she teleported to when Victor pushed her through the tree.
Tabitha says someone might be in the Root Cellar, and asks Julie to stay up there. Tabitha shouts for a response from within the Root Cellar, but no one does. As Tabitha descends, another wave causes her to sense something (like when he touched Victor at the church).
Julie asks her Mom what’s going on, but Tabitha stands there frozen for several seconds. She replies she is okay and continues to descend inside the Root Cellar.
The mummified woman continues to gag Fatima to muffle her screams. This means the spirit is aware Tabitha is out there.
Tabitha finds Victor inside. Victor says this is where his Mom left him and Eloise. Not fair. All those years, Victor thought there was a reason that he survived the massacre. Now he knows that he was the reason his Mom died. He was the one who told her what the Boy in White said to Christopher. Christopher rejected the Boy in White’s mission to rescue to he children. So young Victor told his Mom about the children in the tower and the Bottle Tree and she went to rescue the children. Thus, she died and it was his fault.
Tabitha says it wasn’t his fault and hugs him. He was just a little boy. As they continue to hug, another wave passes through Tabitha’s mind overwhelming her senses. A memory of Miranda hugging Victor and Eloise.
Tabitha releases her embrace with Victor and freaks out repeating: “No. That’s impossible!” Tabitha bolts out from the Root Cellar gasping and breathing heavily as Julie asks what’s going on.
Outside the Root Cellar, another wave of memories hit Tabitha’s mind. It is Miranda running through the forest and reaching the Bottle Tree. The monster that Boyd killed some time ago was there and attacked Miranda.
Tabitha screams frightened and Julie freaks out. Tabitha yells not to be touched, then starts to cry.
